Not easy at all. A really good contact hitter would foul it off. An Albert Pujols type hitter circa 15 years ago would have yanked that into the second deck in left field. Most would swing and miss.

BTW, Tony Gwynn would have hit it to the 5.5 hole for a single.

I think he was more athletic than people gave him credit for. A lot of what people take this from were pictures of him from in his later years.

That being said, players then weren't nearly as into taking care of their bodies as they are now.

P.S. And would you call an NFL offensive lineman a non-athlete? They usually carry a lot of weight around (with emphasis on round/heavy)
