Meh, who cares.
One team in that series is universally despised, and the other team in that series is universally despised.

GO PHILLIES !!!!

On paper, it should be a slaughter for the Astros. Nola, the Phillies star pitcher, has been pretty good though. So has Wheeler, who the Mets let go.

Word around the league is that the cheating Astros are using vibrating anal beads to let their batters know what pitch is coming.

I'm sure Animal and/or CTC will be by shortly for their expert opinion on proper usage.

Swept both series and just used their 4th starter (McCallaster) last night. Swept the first series with Altuve 0'fer. Second with Alvarez quite. The whole roster is just loaded and without one weakness anywhere. But, that's why they actually play the games. As a lifetime Astros fan, believe me the heartbreaks, conniption fits, collapses are part of our entire DNA.

And on Saturday, 60% of the Yankee fans bailed out of the stadium before the bottom of the 8th was over.  It was beautiful.

It's been impressive seeing the Astros tanking for half a decade paying off in this manner. It was surprising that they chose to let Springer and Correa go.

This feels like the Indians and Braves run through the 1990s.

Dude it took them 20 years just to make the playoffs. They've been tanking for decades.

wouldn't you have to go back to the 1970's to find more than a 10 year stretch that the Astros didn't make the playoff's?

If by "making the playoffs" you mean maybe one home game before they start getting ready for the next year, that would be every year from the early 80's until about 7 years ago.

i mean like a playoff series against another team. Like the had in 1980 or 81 or 86 or 97 or 98 or 99 or 01 or 05 or 06 or 15 or 17 or 18 or 19 or 20 or 21 or 22

Oh yeah, the old get the fans excited in 80:1, 86, 99, 06 only to look at gutting the team and rebuilding. Futility has been an Astros fan trademark passed only by the Cleveland Browns in the NFL.

I'll tell you what's a real travesty. Have a team like the San Diego Chargers whose fans have supported the team through good to really bad for decades just to have the team shoved over to LA because the NFL swears there is a fan base there and then watch that team never even get a home game because of the lame home attendance.

Home field advantage. Almost always less fans than the opposing teams fans who traveled all the way across the country. And they yanked them out of San Diego where the games were sold out for decades. Stupid.
