"B" Movies

#1

Post by stonedmegman »

I 've been on a marathon as of late.

Most of them are pretty campy but usually good for the laughs.

Just wrapped up one of my favorites, Poultrygeist: Night of the chicken dead. Stephen King gave it 2 thumbs up.

In my search I found out that there is a 5th Phantasm movie made in 2016!

Will have to add it to the list. 8-)

quite some time ago there was another thread like this and it seemed like there were alot of posts. I like motel hell, flesh gordon. My friend said "flesh gordon was the first porno i ever saw" but i don't think of it as porn. There is plenty of full frontal nudity,i think there's even some male type full frontal, but I'm not into that. The first phantasm. I like the ones that they didn't spend much money on and they had to create special effects with barely any money. Tourist Trap, texas chainsaw massacre, again the first one.I spit on your grave. I like the cheesy ones.Basicly pretty much all the movies that made the rounds at drive in theatres in the late 70's and 80's.

Is that like an actual category? I just reinstalled prime on my roku tv last night. I had removed it quite some time ago because it would never work properly.I don't even remember now what was wrong with it. I think it was movies and the titles wouldn't show up,there were just blank boxes. Or something. I reinstalled it last night because I saw thay have the Randy Rhoads movie on there now,but I didn't mess around with it after I added it back to the tv and verified it (or whatever). So tonight I'll probably play with it and see if it works. Looking back I think I removed it before all the virus shit started,so that's been about 3 years at least. Time really flies when I don't know what I'm doing!

I wouldn't call pootie tang low budget,i see chris rock so they probably paid him pretty good. I always think of B movies as really low budget stuff, but I don't know if that's actually the case. Another bunch I like are the Dolemite movies. I've got the dvd box set of those. Human Tornado,"put your weight on it!Put your weight on it!!" The fight scenes are a riot.

Last weekend the wife and I introduced Napoleon Dynamite to the child.

Does that count?

That Pootie Tang when he takes off his belt...Billings brother's dad "the virgin" Dale Billings "I've got 13 kids that I know of" and then he'd attempt to kick you in the balls. You remember him.He was a little skinny guy maybe 100 pounds soaking wet.Troy Billings told me a story one time that when he (troy) was a little kid they went somewhere and Dale pulled the kick in the balls trick on some guy and naturally the guy was pissed and he had a couple buddys there and he said get that fucker and the guys were going to kick Dale's ass. Troy said his dad always wore a chain belt and it head a big piece of steel for a belt buckle and that day he found out why. When the guys came after him troy said "My dad whipped off that belt and in a matter of seconds both those fuckers were on the ground and my dad looked at the guy that he had just kicked in the balls (who was still on the ground) and he said "do you want some of this mother fucker?" and the guy said no and Dale says "let that be a lesson for you,no man fucks with the virgin!". The whole story may or may not be true but I do know when I met him the brothers were telling me "if he wants to shake your hand do not stand face to face with him, because he will kick you in the balls" When the brothers told him I was still a virgin he grabbed me by the arm and tried to drag me to a port a john. He said we'll go in here and I'll fuck your ass and you won't be a virgin anymore" the brothers were laughing their asses off but I was scared shitless. I really think he was serious. The brothers finally told him to let me go.

For Y'ur Height Only (1981)

Plot: The only one who can foil Mr Giant's evil scheme is Agent 00, a 3-foot tall filipino martial arts master, expert marksman, top-class romancer and all-round superspy.

Trivia: In 1981, First Lady Imelda Marcos launched the Manila International Film Festival to showcase Filipino culture. To her, and everyone else's, surprise, this was the only film that sold.

You only have to go to one source to get your entire fill of "B" movies and laugh your ass off. It's called Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K). You Tube has almost every episode of it's entire 10 year (or something) run.

Its not an actual category just something that has been around forever. With more and more movies getting made however...more and more of them simply suck ass. Movies that never would have been given a "green light" 20 years ago are now rushed into production to fill the need for "content" on a given platform. Some of them are really bad. Theyre so bad you have to kind of admire how bad they are.

Back around '96 or so "we" my wife,my son and I went to see Al. In the row in front of us were a group of young people ,maybe 10 thru 15 years old and they had an adult and they were obviously some sort of special needs. One of those kids violently "banged his head" the entire time he was seated, even when no bands were playing. My son and I still laugh about that from time to time but looking back that may have been the only fun event the kids ever went to. The show was very good, all the typical costume changes and what not. He's coming back here or already has been back but on the news it said this show was going to be a "stripped down" version with no costumes just Al playing the songs. That kind of takes alot of the fun out of things.

I started watching the randy rhoads movie last night and there was alot of stuff I never heard or saw and I was pretty into ozzy when he went solo. I also remember when ozzy got zakk wylde but at the time they were calling him zakk adams. I met Dubrow at Las Vegas airport around 2000 and even though I always thought he was kind of a dick I was still somewhat in awe. He asked me if I wanted an autograph and I told him I didn't and that I really didn't like quiet riot but it did freak me out to see him. He thanked me for being honest and said you wouldn't believe the number of assholes I run into. I just said take it easy and he said "you too". and off he went.

for "the frogs" do you mean "frogs" from 1972 starring ray Milland, sam elliot and joan van ark? That was on regular tv a while back. That was one I saw at the drive in in about 1980. I swear alot of those types of movies came to the drive in year after year. Last house on the left was one that came around here evry summer.
