In my neck of the woods, there's constant radio ads making the case for police to be able to sue, I think for things like injuries due to not maintaining your sidewalks etc.
My reaction now is "sure, as soon as you get rid of qualified immunity, so we can sue you too"!
P.S. Though I'm torn on bringing every little thing to court. Seems like a cash grab by shady lawyers.

qualified immunity can be broken as it was in the floyd case. if a cop does something egregious, they should be prosecuted for it. getting egged on by a pedophile in a library may not qualify but if you murder someone thats a different story.
