The Mutts still owe him $55 million in deferred payments.

Yikes. And I just realized this is his 2nd Tommy John. Might be a longer turnaround. If it's successful.

i heard a teaser on the radio today that said this might not be such bad news for the Rangers. But I didn't catch the story later. I was wondering if they had some kind of clause in their deal for him.

Edit: nevermind. there is no good news. I think what they were going to say was that acquiring him allowed them to also get some other good pitchers which is why they are winning right now. And then something about a possible 6th season. But, basically its lots of millions down the toilet.

The Rangers will be just fine.
DeGrom only has 2 wins this year and the Rangers are currently the 2nd best team in the league.

Dude was over-stressing his arm throwing fire all of the time.

Maybe he'll come back as more of a pitcher instead of a thrower.

P.S. One of the rare times the Mets made the right decision.

P.P.S. Hope he comes back as good as ever for at least a couple years

Nonnsense. His motion is near flawless and doesnt add stress to his elbow. I think the issue is these TJ surgeries dont last forever and he got his at a fairly young age. I just think there's only so many bullets in a pitchers arm. As far as him being a thrower, his slider was his best pitch and could locate it anytime, anywhere

And yes, I hope he comes back strong as ever
