Fareed Zakaria really wants to ratchet up tension with Russia

Can you imagine the thought process it took to provoke Trump into being more hardline with Russia and potentially start a war in Venezuela? October will be the 18th anniversary of the current war in Afghanistan.

Since Bush and Obama agreed drone strikes were good - nobody even discusses Trump's escalation of drone strikes.

TV talking heads love trying to goad Trump into going to war w/ Russia. Here’s just one example: @FareedZakaria is trying to get Trump to prove he's not guilty of appeasement by going to war with Russia over Venezuela.

They goaded obama. He said chem weapons would be a red line in Syria, they promptly taunted him about it. The media wants war, so they can cover it, and, two months later, cry that it’s gone on too long.

So Putin makes Trump look like a bitch again by propping up yet another government that we no loger recognize as legitimate and you're blaming Fareed Zakaria for ratcheting up the tension? Blame anyone but Trump I guess?

I guess we only expect Trump to break out his tough talk for countries like Guatemala and El Salvador. I guess this is like the idiocy of low expectations.

That's some serious thinking right there.

Retweeting what Tulsi Gabbard thought about the subject was a real brain buster.

I think South America should be squarely in our zone of influence but we screwed that pooch a long time ago. It's embarrassing Russia is sitting on our front porch flicking cigarettes at us.

We certainly discussed this here

Revoking the civilian information is a pretty big deal but in reality I don't think anyone really believed the numbers anyway. Obama's declaring any male over the age of around 13 to be a terrorist was covered far more than this.

The number of drone strikes in 2017 was higher than they'd been. I think (I could be wrong) the number is back to around 2015 now. I haven't seen a debate about the current drone policy since the Obama years.

Without Manning, we don't have the video of the drone strike on reporters and Manning is back in prison in solitary confinement again. WIthout Assange we don't have a lot of the data and he's being illegally detained per the United Nations.

edit: drone strike discussion since this board started were all in GD and was solely based upon that rule change.

I've never been one to cry over drone strikes. It's cheaper than sending SEAL Team Six or Delta Force and less American lives at risk. Plus, we never hear about what the Spec Ops do anyway
