Weekly Commute

#1

Post by CentralTexasCrude »

This is my commute home at the end of each week. 2 Videos. Doesn't start so far West in Video 1 and ends not so far East in Video 2. Hope you can spend 40 minutes watching. Has some kick ass music for cruising down the highway on roads that go "forever".

There's potential here.

Can you make a video of you cooking something next time?

Did he pull a "blast" and stick his head in the kiln to check for proper ventilation while operating?

Video 1/ 13:54 on left at the top of the mesa and 14:14 on right. Side by side (constructed 3 years apart) 1 million barrel per day each oil pipelines transporting crude from the Permian Basin to Corpus Christi on the Gulf for export. Cost for both about $2.5 Billion. He pulls over to clean his windshield and you can see both on the mesa in the background.

Even if you made it I wouldn't spend 5 minutes watching someone else driving down the road.

So rugged, the last of coast-to-coast I-10 was completed here around 1980. East bound traffic had to exit at 12:20 and travel 2 lane highway including a narrow bridge over the Pecos River (most dangerous section on any Interstate in the nation) for 25 miles until 15:21. West bound, the opposite.

Video 1: 17:40 to the end. Kick ass commuting music amped up 7X video speed at the end. Crank the volume.

I would say I'm jealous of the lack of surrounding traffic, but then I remember that it's Texas.

Using "we" is a pet peeve of his, ya know.

Check out Video 2. 3/4 Willie from the 60's. Figured that was more your style. We will just pretend he was smoking herb cigs.

Dude, that's rush hour out there. Should see it at night. Almost deserted and probably the darkest skies in the lower 48. The stars you can see with the naked eye is incredible.

$50 says you wouldn't survive 30 minutes in Boston traffic.
