Yesterday, the Arizona Diamondbacks put up 14 runs in one inning.
They did it without hitting a home run, and they went through their entire batting rotation TWICE!

D-Backs added 40 million to the payroll during the off-season. Added Joc Pederson among other long ball hitters.

Braves pitching woes...
Spencer Strider has ligament damage and Max Fried can't pitch past the 4th inning.
Are the Tigers going to steal the last wild card spot in the AL?

Anything is possible.
The Twins have the harder remaining schedule and the Tigers have a 3 game set with the Royals this week. If they can sweep the Royals they'll have a shot.
The Tigers still have 5 games left against Baltimore... that doesn't help.
But they finish the season with 3 against the White Sox... that helps a lot.
My guess is they don't make it.

The Tigers are FINALLY playing some decent baseball.
Even if they cant grab that last playoff spot the pressure will be on ownership to spend some money next season. They are proving right now that they can compete. Cabrerra's bloated contract, which was their excuse to not spend money previously, will be long gone. Their payroll remains fairly modest so the room is there to get a decent bat or two.
The question is if Mike Illitch's son, who is a notorious cheapskate, will open up the checkbook.

And he got a ring !!!
Nice to see he is screwed more teams than just the Tigers.
Speaking of those Tigers...
For realz. After too many years of just awful baseball they are finally fun to watch again!
It sure has helped the cause that the Royals have decided to shit the bed and lose 7 in a row.
Absolutely. The Twins arent exactly lighting the world on fire either. There are a lot of things breaking their way along with playing some good baseball.

A little off topic... but I think Skubal is a lock for the Cy Young.
