Avian Influenza is going crazy on the midwest turkey flocks and it's only a matter of time before it hits the egg layers, and worse, the breeder facilities. California has lost 10 to 15 million birds, Iowa just had 3 farms go down for over 6 million birds, and Colorado and Michigan are about to euthanize another 15 million or so birds after making caged facilities illegal as of Jan 1. I may start smuggling eggs out of work. Curious about it you can go to hpai-tracker. It'll show you where infecting are.

Beleive me, it isn't voluntary. They could have easily set it up so each flock is aged out but the moral authority decided that birds are smart enough to know that the life they've lived is "cruel and inhumane" so they are killing them all. I think those motions thought that you could just open the cages and let the birds out to roam cage free.

AI WILL kill the entire farm. They're is no way around it. It is 100% fatal to the birds.

Growing up we had free 2 dozen eggs twice a month. The only way I could stomach that shit was scrambled with minced onions or with thin hot dog slices or ground beef and with massive amounts of Heinz ketchup. The sight of eggs,cooked in any style, is offensive,the smell of them sickening,the taste of them makes me gag other than that they are ok.

It's tough to beat a fresh omelette with sausage, ham, shredded potatoes, cheese and freshly made sausage gravy.

If I have an allotment of eggs in my life time to eat or go hungry for 6 months ,I choose hunger. A BLT on rye toast with a side of crisp french fries is infinitely a better meal than over easy,hard boiled,soft boiled,scrambled,fried or poached.......

I just bought a dozen eggs for 11.99 here in Scottsdale. Highest I've ever seen it

I warned you guys. Eggs prices were not helped by having to euthanize several million birds, I'm looking at Michigan and Colorado, that were in caged coops. The cost of building cage free facilities is about double that of caged. The birds are not as efficient, they get hurt more so you have loss of eggs through mortality, labor costs are higher. There is a vaccine for Avian influenza but due to international policies we are not allowed to use it. Several breeder flock had been wiped out, a farm hit by AI is down at least a couple months before they can repopulate. It takes 18 weeks for a hen to start laying edges.

And FTR deviled eggs come from possessed chickens.

We've had shortages for about a year now.
Supermarkets either don't have stock or limit purchase to a dozen.

Can't say it's been painful to get them though

This is the correct answer...a dozen is about 3.90 to 4.50 here so no problems getting them.

My son is the soft-boiled egg king. He'll make a dozen at a time and eat half them when done. But he rarely eats eggs any other way except mixed in with other ingredients. I think it's gross he prefers to eat boiled eggs cold, but I still love the rascal anyway.
