Am I supposed to feel bad for these people that have lost everything?
It might seem callous to have to ask but I question how long the residents thought about potential consequences for living in a forest.
I live near water, I know the risks.
From what I’ve seen no one thought to use fireproof materials.
Your thoughts as always are appreciated

I guess they forgot to rake the forest.

There's plenty of blame to go around here, from State leadership, to City government, and homeowners. That being said, when the winds are blowing embers somewhere from 80-100 mph, nothing is stopping the spread of that.

Yeah, in LA’s fire equipment being sent to Ukraine helped a bunch. The mayor of LA cutting firefighting funds. And the governor doing the same.

It's really hard for conservatives to talk about climate issues and not look retarded.

The water reservoir in Pacific Palisades. It was offline for repairs.

I can't find the clip but I saw a vid earlier of an LA news crew in studio saying that "No firefighter has told us there is no water in the hydrants." 30 seconds later they cut to a reporter in the field who flat out says "Well, they've told me they don't have any water."
I'd laugh if this wasn't so sad.

Apparently, because of course, social justice was high on her list of priorities as the chief executive of the water department.
Apologies. I couldn't find a clip of just this person saying such ridiculous comments. Deputy Fire Chief says people caught in a fire "want to see people that look like them" or that someone caught in a fire "Got themselves in the wrong place" if she has to carry them out. DEI needs to be shot in the face.
This is the LA Fire Department.

Holy shit! Not only are they stupid enough to believe it. They’re stupid enough to say it on tape.
