FOX 13 reported the owner had a gun in the bed. Oreo jumped into bed and his paw got stuck between the trigger and the trigger guard, resulting in a discharge of the firearm and the owner received a graze wound to his thigh.

A "gun", a "firearm", what kind? A handgun, so a pistol or a semi-auto? A rifle, maybe a shotgun or an AK47 or a .30-06? How was it initially set on the bed, barrel up towards the head or to the foot? Was there a safety, and why wasn't it used? Why did the guy have a weapon sitting on the bed unsecured like that? Did a sheet or blanket lay on top of the unspecified firearm? Was he expecting a home invasion or something? Pretty fucking dumb, what if that had been a child rather than a dog at the trigger.

Exactly how completely stupid do you have to be to allow a loaded weapon, and if it has a safety not set, sit openly and exposed while you sleep?

That's hardly showing you're a competent and conscientious gun owner.

I doubt it was a revolver due to the amount of trigger pull . Unless the idiot had it cocked for single action. My bet is a semi auto. Probably a Glock. Since it hit his leg it was pointed to the foot of bed.
