I had my covid booster shot today. And since I'm not afraid, I also got a flu vaccine. And I'm not a cpa or anything, but they were free.

The Mrs., an RN for 30yrs, got the flu shot, covid booster and shingles vaccine all at once a couple weeks back. She felt like shit for two days.

The COVID shots, and I've had all three kinds, do the same to me. Gives me something that feels like a really bad flu for about three days. The very first shot I ever got, within three hours every muscle in my body felt like someone beat me head to toe with a cricket bat. My co-worker from Gainesville had to drive me home to Orlando, I simply couldn't drive at all. The next several shots weren't as bad, but not by much.

My company is trying to arrange a corporate-wide vaccine program for us all, even those under 65, but getting the supplier seems a bit of an issue at the moment. Trying to go with Moderna. We're an international medical provider, yet arranging that seemingly isn't as simple as all that.

What are everyone's thoughts on the UKHSA withholding covid-shot excess death info because the "data would lead to the “distress” of bereaved relatives if a link were to be discovered"?

these symptoms are caused by your body processing the hysterics that you face when you know that someone is about to stick a needle into your body. Its completely normal for tender people and in the medical profession it is known as Hennypennyism. I'm a research medical professional.

For clarity, Animal, I've had plenty of vaccinations and boosters over the years, my company offers them free due to nature of our work. None tend to bother me, expect for the yearly influenza vaccine, which usually winds up giving me the flu anyway, and COVID. I believe in vaccines, always have, and have even done a few clinical trials.

I'm not Biker, who you should be directing your diatribe towards.

Truly amazing that people still take the COVID shot after all that’s come out about it. All this for stiff winter cold. SMH

Yeah, the Mrs. is a true believer in all of it. Mostly due to the patients she cared for during the initial outbreak, she really saw the worst of the worst. I myself haven't had any jabs, not that I'm against them, I just had a gut feeling about it.

After dodging Covid for four years we both got it at the same time and she was convinced one of us was gonna die. The one time that I had a true flu was way worse than having Covid.

have you tried looking the other way and distracting yourself before the shot?

and, catching the flu from the vaccine is an old wives tale that dates back to a time when vaccines were made out of actual live viruses. Its impossible now. If you think you got the flu from the vaccine, then that is another example of your body hallucinating symptoms because of your hysteria.

Needles don't bother me at all. I used to do my own blood draws either from the arm or ankle, until my wife took over that job. I use to let beginner phlebs use my arm for their first sticks. I have huge veins in my hands, so they often got used to train for draws from the back of the hand.

It's not that I think I'm getting the flu from a flu vaccine, but that the vaccine gives me a flu-like reaction. That's not unknown, and for some people it's an expected reaction. There is no hysteria involved. I'd wish you'd quit making such idiotic assumptions about things you know nothing about.
