I will just take a stab at this.
Benefits for working people often fluctuate up and down over time depending on who is in office, the economy, employment rates, wages, etc. They are made to change to meet current needs. If you have ever run a company then you understand that people hate to go backward. However sometimes it is required. For example, if you have an employee that doesn't have a company car. So you increase their salary a little to compensate them for using their own car for rare occassions that they need to for company business. After a year or so you decide that their job has evolved enough that they now need a company car. So you get them a company car and you remove the salary adjustment they have been getting. Boom! Problem. They will give you every excuse in the book of why that is not fair.
Reducing taxes on the wealthy is typically just a reset to what taxes were before the other party raised them on the rich.
Wars over oil are because oil controls so much of our economy. In the wrong hands it can control much of the world's economy. Just think how much more stable the price of oil has been since the wars in Kuwait and Iraq. OPEC used to hang over us like a sword of damocles. We seldom even hear that word anymore.

About the same amount of benefit as the George Floyd peaceful protests, minus the burned buildings, murders, and rapes

Not one of the right leaners here even cared about this yet Who and Ricky know all about it!
It's almost as bad as the Civil War already happening in the democrat party! The Jew haters vs the Jew lovers! The socialists vs the capitalists! The Leftists vs the traditional Liberals. The young vs the old! The democrat cracks have been forming for years.

I guess I'm just having a hard time understanding how removing Maduro from power makes life worse for the average American. Please enlighten me.

Venezuala has the largest proven oil reserves of any country on this planet. More than the Saudi's. This could be a complete game changer if it unfolds correctly.

Of course. The larger point is that China and Russia have been pushing to control these reserves. By us securing them in our favor (supposedly) it essentially locks them out; aside from the free market of course.
Additionally, with those reserves now fully open Canadian oil loses a bit of leverage if they try to get cute.

there are a lot of problems with the Venezualan oil. The infrastructure is a LONG LONG way from making it producable in large quantities. And china has been the one doing most of the investing in what they have to this point (I think). And with prices in the low $60's and under its just not feasible for large oil companies to go in there and do the kind of building it would take to make them a market player.
HOWEVER................. the stock market today seems to think there is something to this. And those guys are a lot smarter than we are.

Exactly. Stopping the country w/ the largest proven oil reserves in the world from selling oil in Yauns does wonders for the US economy.

yeah, there is something to this it seems. i heard this morning that an investment of $50 billion to $150 billion would do a lot toward improving their production of oil. And in oil $$$ that doesn't seem like that much money. Their oil, evidently, is perfect for bringing to our refineries and turning into diesel fuel. And diesel fuel is what fuels the economy.
i don't see why we couldn't turn Venezuala into the next Dubai.
