Seems pretty cool. Google says cost can range from $40 to $160 for each screw.

Rewatched an some old "This Old House" episodes. They were on the Jersey Shore after Sandy went through and helping with the rebuilds. They did something for foundations. They used Helical Screws or Piers that screw into the ground. Went deeper and looked like they could support a lot more weight.

Good points. That episode was 12 years ago and I'm sure things have evolved. They definitely were using bigger equipment to put in those longer piers back then.WarmBidetWater wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 1:44 pm I also recalled that "This Old House" episode. I have to think the major differences are the equipment size needed to install the helical piers/screws and the amount of load placed on them.
