Burger King ads during the Oscars

BK had a number of ads during last night's Oscars awards show, including a long ad where the CEO admitted BK has sucked for some number of years, but he's admitting it and will make it better. The ad even showed video complaints from disappointed customers ("I don't go to BK to eat like a peasant!")

I haven't eaten at a BK for lunch or dinner since the fall of 2009. I did buy some breakfast crescents for my wife at the beginning of COVID, they were the most horrible and burnt-tasting things, not even our dog volunteered to eat them. Alpo on a bun would been a tastier snack.

The reason I quit eating at BK was not just due to getting some basically very ghetto food (even Checkers tastes like a steak dinner compared), but the BK by my office was caught spitting in the burgers of a couple of Orange deputies. Swore off BK after that. If I need to eat out on the road, I'll eat at a RaceTrak station, they have good food and cheap, too. Occasionally I'll stop at the Double Arches for their #7/#8 (two cheese burgers, small fry, Coke Zero), but the price for that has basically doubled in just over a year. Eleven dollars now?! :? Eating fast food while driving for the company is not a good idea.

The nearest BK we used to have by our house closed to become a Dunkn Donuts, and even that's closed now. The next closest BK near Universal Studios I swear never has anyone parked in front or in the drive-thru line. I almost have to wonder if it's a drug front. The nearby Chik-Fil-A has a double line wrapped around the store, and the adjacent BBQ local chain shop does clearly better business. And not a single person at the BK...

Eaten at a BK recently? How disgusting was the food? Preferred fast food?

8-) We're getting WaB's back here in the Orlando area after a new franchisee signed up, I'm looking forward to them. We only have them in Jax and Tallahassee right now, there was a major supply chain issue that shut down all the rest of Florida's WaB stores.

Haven't eaten at a Chili's in years, no idea. But WaB's breakfast burritos were the best!

I like the new, updated Whopper. I usually will go on Whopper Wednesday. $3.99 for a Whopper. QD, you're right, Checkers is pretty good. I like the Big Buford burgers.

Haven’t had a McD or a BK burger in years, perhaps decades. In N Out is the only fast food that’s good

Don't have them or WhatABurger here. I guess the fancy burger chain here is Five Guys.

Round here one of the best fast food burgers is Runza, but I don't think Runza exists outside of Nebraska.

not bk related but near me there is a very busy street and it had a wnedys on it, about 1/4 mile from major interstate, all sorts of other fast food places along there and the other day when i went by the wendys was closed with a huge for sale sign. A girl at the tacobell next door said it happened fast, her friend worked there and went to work one day and they sent her home, telling her they were closing. So I thought that was strange.
