Exactly. He is a completely miserable ignorant fuck. I have no idea why except maybe his Dad molested him when he was child. In that case, I forgive CQ for all of his ruthless and blatant abuse on people that in no way deserve it.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 1:32 amYou know following me around like a "lap dog" kinda ruins your reputation. Re: Can a UJR brother get some advice on an AC thermostat
Yeah, this is a great idea. Hey DT, which wires do I connect to run the AC?. Here's what I thought to do. Disconnect the furnace power source from the plug in the furnace stall. Connect to an extension cord running to a convenient plug in my living room. Connect the wires to run the AC manually. Plug in and unplug the extension cord to run it. Temporary solution until my thermostat comes in next week.Flumper wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 12:11 amthe thermostat didn't fix it?WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 12:06 am Fucking AC is totally dead. 5 pounds of recently installed freon waiting to cool me down after working 8 hours in 100 degree heat wearing heavy nomex fire retarding BS. i can't remember the wires, but if you touch red to white (or whatever someone that knows tells you) then it should kick the unit on. i don't remember which two wires it is, but yoiu can touch them and it will start the outside unit without a thermostat at all. You need DT to tell you exactly.

To run the A/C (non stop) you would jump red, yellow and green.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:41 amYeah, this is a great idea. Hey DT, which wires do I connect to run the AC?. The red wire is the hot wire, yellow controls the condenser and green will activate the fan.
There would be no temperature control, but it would give you cooling until the new t-stat arrives.
And yes, you can just unplug the furnace to shut everything down.

There you go WTC. Don't disconnect the old thermostat. Just get a a few short pieces of wire and make jumpers to connect red, yellow, and green. If you get those three connected you have the a/c running 24/7. to shut it on and off, you unplug the furnace.DiverTexas wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 2:14 pmTo run the A/C (non stop) you would jump red, yellow and green.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:41 amYeah, this is a great idea. Perfect DT. I thank you very much. I was looking over the wiring on Google this morning, and I was wondering if I needed the fan (green). Just a quick question. Are the wiring here low voltage like on a sprinkler system?DiverTexas wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 2:14 pmTo run the A/C (non stop) you would jump red, yellow and green.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 11:41 amYeah, this is a great idea. you might want to just ship back that amazon thermostat and keep this one hot wired. you could put a christmas light timer on the furnace plug and set it to go on an hour before you come home and a couple of hours after you go to bed. it would rival the best programmable ones.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 7:54 pm And I appreciated the suggestion you made yesterday. or, he could buy a burner phone and set it to "vibrate" and then put it on a slanted surface with a string around it hooked to a switch that controls the furnace. when he was ready to head home and wanted to turn on the A/C he could call the phone, it would vibrate and fall off the table, pulling the switch and the house would be nice and cool when he got home.Wut wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 8:17 pmMaybe he can rig an hour glass to it.Flumper wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 7:56 pmyou might want to just ship back that amazon thermostat and keep this one hot wired. you could put a christmas light timer on the furnace plug and set it to go on an hour before you come home and a couple of hours after you go to bed. it would rival the best programmable ones.WestTexasCrude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2020 7:54 pm And I appreciated the suggestion you made yesterday.
