i remember years ago i was on a Southwest flight to houston and i was sitting by this old man that had this big cowboy hat on, pearl snap shirt, boots etc. Anyway, he hadn't said anything and we were flying through this really bad storm and the plane was bouncing all around. He looked over at me and said, "That's why I like these Southwest pilots. They don't fly around the brambles. They push right through 'em"

T-45 minutes. They are fixing to go through the final "readiness poll" to see that everyone is "ready" for launch. If that goes okay, then they will load the fuel.

shit, i'm getting dizzy just looking at the video. That mother fucker is tall. Being afraid to blast off wouldn't be a problem for me. I'd never make it through the walk out on that walkway a million miles in the air.

It was nice of the Nickelodeon to donate their reporting staff to run things.

the astronauts have entered the Tesla and are being driven to their rocket.
No kidding. Was watching Discovery channel an hour ago. Interviewing one of the scientific guys on SpaceX. Some young kid with his ballcap on backwards. Said he wanted one of those new spacesuits for next Halloween as a costume because he would look so "Rad". Cronkite and the Apollo missions it's not.

I know where I'm in Port St Lucie we are getting blasted with thunderstorms right now......but being florida it could be dry 5 miles away. Well hopefully they go in a couple days.
I blame Biker.

And the launch is scrubbed. Smart. Has always happened in the history of space flights.

I assume that they have to kind of back into these blast off times? I mean, they have to track the space station and then time the blast off so that everything lines up like it should?

Otherwise, why not wait 10 minutes or so and go ahead with blast off. The guy said the "weather window" was just not cooperating and they needed another 10 minutes for the last check box to be okay. But they said they couldn't wait and had to scrub. That might be one thing that some private business guys might want to change and make the blast off only contingent on ground constraints and then make the adjustments to the flight path once its in orbit.

its pretty fucked up when you have to have an exact weather condition on a predetermined moment in time in Florida.

omg, i just can't with these fucking chick reporters they have.

"Well, that's the way it goes when you have to depend on weather in Florida. It can change. We can have these pop up thunderstorms or hurricanes that move through and then 20 minutes later its all clear. That's just how it is here in Florida."

really? pop up hurricanes?

I was listening to one talking head and they were saying something about the ascent visuals have to be clear all the way to even Ireland in case a recovery has to be made...... They are also saying that the storms that went ahead earlier had a lot of lightning going on and could possibly interfere once the rocket was on its way. So I guess there's a little more to it than just what's happening right there on the launch pad.

Yeah. they said something about conditions at x altitude.

If i had been in charge of mission control, i'd have gone on with it. three cheers in a bucket and mother fuck it.

Did you notice that the Trump motorcade arrived about 15 minutes before the launch? After 5 years, I'll let you guess what the banner headlines and top story on the Lame news is going to be tomorrow morning.

That's why I said in previous posts it was a bad idea for Trump to go down there for what was probably going to be a scrubbed launch. Watch tomorrow- "Outrage" over wasted taxpayer money , blah, blah, blah. It's already being written in every lame newsroom right now for broadcast Thursday. It's like setting your clock.

They have an ejection handle to pull in case of an emergency that shoots them thousands of feet away from the rocket in milliseconds. Physically unbolting them out of there, not so much.

Yeah, I get that. You've warned me before. Idiot doesn't realize I'm talking off the top of my head like I would in any day conversation with someone else. Fine 2 seconds to shoot them thousands of feet. RD being anal like every post on here is an official communique from the UN Security Council to be scrutinized with a fine tooth comb. Jesus Christ. Somebody needs a life.

Once again WTC, you called it. Exactamente.

NASA calls off SpaceX launch over lightning risk to astronauts: Weather forces postponement of historic manned mission to ISS until Saturday - even though conditions would have cleared minutes later

At least Ivanka was wearing her 2k sexy dress and had her mask on, as did her kids.

I wonder if Trump & crew will be back to see the actual launch, whenever that might be.
