It really doesn't matter how many times you say it. Facts are facts.CaptQuint wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:22 pm You are 100% wrong, like completely wrong. Tax documents are not private property, they belong to the government record. The president is not even actually a party to either subpoena. A District Attorney with a valid legal subpoena and The House of Representatives have an absolute right to view this information. And SCOTUS agrees. The president has absolutely zero business being party to the proceedings. He was not asked for anything.
Are tax returns public info?
Are Tax Forms Public Record? No, tax forms are not public record. They are private information. Tax forms contain confidential information and are not meant to be shared.

SCREEEEEECH, (sound of goal posts moving) No one claimed they are public record. Tax information is property of the federal government. If tax records were private no one would ever get charged with tax evasion or fraud. John Gotti would have never seen the inside of a cell if prosecutors were told his tax information was private.Flumper wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:28 pmIt really doesn't matter how many times you say it. Re: Political meme thread for both sides of the spectrum.
1) Trump said he'd release them. Didn't. Lied. Again. Like he's done so often. Taint lickers don't care that he's a liar. They'll vote for a bald-faced liar. Again.
2) Everyone else who has been President released them.
3) What is he hiding? And why don't the taint lickers care?
P.S. Righties used to parrot "If you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about." Funny how that's now gone away.
P.P.S. Wanna bet that "nothing to worry" "what's he hiding" stuff suddenly reappears when the other party is in charge?

Tax records contain private information whether it is mine, yours or Trump’s. I think that the information should be submitted under seal until both parties have had a chance to review the information and have closed hearings on the admissibility of the evidence. The judge should rule on admissibility and what private information can be redacted. I do not think that the media should have access to the information until it is ruled on.CaptQuint wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:34 pmSCREEEEEECH, (sound of goal posts moving) No one claimed they are public record. Though I wonder if it's possible to really do that in congress and prevent leaks. With a NY grand jury it's possible though.

Why? They are private. Not caving to irrational people.CaptQuint wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 1:57 pmThe IRS doesn't target the big fish due to the litigation involved. Trump’s taxes are probably extremely complex. Like most REITs, he probably has every property setup in one or more separate legal entities. His non-real estate ventures are probably setup up in separate entities as well. His and Melania’s personal returns probably have very little, if any, information on his various holdings. The tax records for properties located outside of NY should be off the table because the Grand Jury and prosecutors do not have jurisdiction.

Huh. Thanks for that. Learn something new everyday. I wonder if the IRS keeps all of the bigshots folders in a special area? Like, do Jeff Bezos and Bll Gates and folks like that have their own dedicated group going through their returns? I imagine billionaires tax returns are like fucking novels. I suppose they just feed the info into a computer to "search" for red flags. Still, Trumps been filing taxes for 50 years now and we haven't heard anything about any of them. More than a few people have seen his returns at one time or another.CaptQuint wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 3:24 pmIt's cute you think 75,000 people have access to his records. That shit is in a safe with almost zero access.
