Most of the time I see little difference between crooked businessmen and politicians. Especially now that we have someone in the whitehouse who's both.

Oh sorry, did I mess up your meme? ;)

Yes that is exactly the 100,000 tax dollar messaging they were trying to put across. The funny thing is without those stupid federal regulations for cars and trucks there would be no seatbelts, efficiency standards, air bags.....etc......... Absolute morons.

Do think that only cost 100 grand?

Try to rent a couple of cranes too, with operators.

yeah, there would be all of those things. insurance companies have ways to force you to do certain stuff. i had my house re-roofed and upgraded the shingles to knock $800 per year off my insurance cost. We don't need government to dictate decisions that are meant to save money.

probably around $300 per hour. Unless the name of the company was on them, and in that case they probably donated them for the publicity. Actually, now that I think about it, i'm sure they were probably donated. what big construction company owner wouldn't want to donate a few cranes for a half a day to support their party?

History proves otherwise. Profits over safety and the environment is the Hallmark of American corporations.

No, that's not true. You talk about Profits. I agree, profits drive most all of the corporate decisions. But if safety is costing profits, then they make changes. Let me explain.

If Car Company A starts selling cars that have seat belts, and Car Company B refuses to install seat belts because of the cost.

Let's say that Insurance Company X realizes the enormous costs of accidents that could have been prevented if cars had seat belts. So they start telling their customers that if they buy a car from Company A, then they can have a lower insurance cost. Then Insurance Company Y hears about this and does the same thing. So does Insurance Company Z. Soon, Company B can't sell any cars because they don't have seat belts.

See how this works?
