i can't believe these republican governors haven't found a cure for this Covid thing. All they seem worried about is figuring out how we can live our lives and pay our bills along with this virus.

ZOMG the cases!
We're testing at fucking record levels and people are surprised the number of cases is climbing.
Yes, it's here. Yes, it's real. Yes, a very small fraction of people will die.

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
Ignoring the facts again i see. we've already established that more testing will get more positive cases.
what you obtusely refuse to mention is that hospitalizations are on the rise in record numbers and so are deaths. Maybe fifty or sixty thousand people died of the flu last year. We've got a hundred forty thousand dead in 4 months. You just keep downplaying it though.
I blame Biker.

no one is downplaying it, Mr China Doll. We are trying to explain that we know its here. We understand some people will go to the hospital. We didn't invent the virus. We are just trying to come up with a way to live our lives and keep the numbers manageable. That's all anyone agreed to do, right?Stapes wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 4:59 pmIgnoring the facts again i see. we've already established that more testing will get more positive cases.

The voice recognition in my Toyota really sucks. I end up using very vile language with the AI voice when she constantly gets things wrong. The Ford we used to have was typically spot on every time.

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
Had an interesting encounter with a lady today who said she was moving to Florida for work.
Her job is conducting coronavirus tests.
I made it a point to ask if she knew how the testing was tallied. Her reply confirmed a theory many people have; every positive case is tallied, even same patient retests.

that's the same thing that I am hearing. the guy that works for me got his results back from Test #2 today. Positive. so we have to wait a few more days to do another test. Another guy that works for me has taken his 2nd test now and we are waiting. Another guy goes in tomorrow for test #2Cassandros wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 2:10 am Had an interesting encounter with a lady today who said she was moving to Florida for work.

Bullshit that still continues in fact. The Washington Post reported on April 18 that the test kits had generated false-positive results — caused by the CDC’s contamination — at 24 of the first 26 public health labs that tried them out before analyzing samples from actual patients. The Post also reported that an examination by the Food and Drug Administration had concluded that the tests failed because of substandard manufacturing practices and that the CDC violated its own laboratory protocol in making the kits.
Seems like its safe to conclude the real numbers are in fact lower than reported. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a warning letter for clinical labs and health care providers over COVID-19 tests manufactured by global medical technology company Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) which has produced coronavirus tests the department says are at high risk for false positive results.
In a study conducted by the company and cited by the FDA, approximately 3% of results from tests using the BD SARS-CoV-2 Reagents for the BD Max System were false positive results.
To put that 3% in perspective, there have been almost 3 million test conducted in FL, if 3% of those test were contaminated --> that would make 90 thousand false positives. False positives that are being double and triple counted.
Somethings fishy.

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
The Trump administration is attempting to block billions of dollars for contact tracing, additional testing and other coronavirus mitigation efforts that would potentially be included in Congress's next coronavirus relief package, officials involved in the negotiations told The Washington Post.
According to the Post's sources, the administration is also trying to block billions in funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that GOP senators want to give the agency as it continues to battle COVID-19 on the front lines.

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
I can't speak for every state, but in Florida that's the health department's protocol, that every test coming up positive be reported to the state, even if it's a repeat. I'll leave it to the tinfoil hat folks to argue whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, but from a strictly medical point of view, that's a very good thing.Cassandros wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 2:10 am I made it a point to ask if she knew how the testing was tallied. If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.
