Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
I tested positive on Friday the 27th of Nov, 8 days ago. I was scheduled for a surgery and had to have a test before they would operate. I had no symptoms. The surgery was scheduled for Monday and was cancelled due to the positive test. I had no fever, and on Monday and Tuesday I felt like I might have a slight sinus condition coming on. Everyday I've been doing 4-5 miles of light jogging, while quarantining the rest of the time. By Wednesday night the sinus condition was gone. I feel 100%, but will quarantine until early next week. I'm type O+ blood, and I have read that we tend to have milder symptoms than other blood types.

The mayor of Austin, Texas flew private to Cabo San Lucas where he filmed himself telling citizens to “stay home.”
Austin Mayor Steve Adler hosted 20 guests at an outdoor wedding and reception for his daughter at a hotel in downtown Austin in early November, the American-Statesman reported. The following day he boarded a private jet with seven of the wedding guests and flew to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for vacation at the family timeshare.
“We need to stay home if you can,” Adler said in a Facebook video message to Austin residents. “This is not the time to relax. We are going to be looking really closely. … We may have to close things down if we are not careful.”

I have had 4 recent employees that tested positive. None have gone to the hospital and none have had any kind of problems. They all came back to work at the 14 day mark after their positive tests (my rule is no sooner than 2 weeks). My completely amateur guess is that this virus is losing some of its punch. Don't get me wrong, I'm still pushing all of the safety protocol with masks, minimal contact, etc. That's just my observation based on the people I know that have tested positive. It could just be that people dont fear it as much since everyone now knows someone that went through it. Through word of mouth they have learned what to do with a positive test.B-Tender wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 10:49 pm I tested positive on Friday the 27th of Nov, 8 days ago. In the beginning Stapes and his crowd had everyone so scared they would immediately run to the emergency room and the doctors would flip the fuck out and rush them to a ventilator and kill them. Now its some chicken soup and netflix.

Hey voters, you know what you can do to say "fuck you" to politicians who think they're "above you"?
Vote them the fuck out. If you don't, look in the mirror. That's who's to blame.

There was some speculation that it could be getting less harmful and even more contagious.Animal wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 11:04 pmI have had 4 recent employees that tested positive. It's actually to a virus's benefit to eventually mutate that way. The original SARS didn't get a chance to do that, since it killed almost everybody, and seems to have died out as a consequence. And MERS was even more fatal (but further internet research seems to indicate it's still in camels, and SARS was easier to isolate because you apparently were only contagious with obvious symptoms).
But the current COVID is pretty good at killing people still, especially those with certain conditions. And contrary to lots of garbage written on the net, it's far worse than any recent flu.

I dont really blame Stapes, for it was the media that was trying to get him scared shitless. It clearly worked on him and Capt but most of us took precautions and stayed strong.Animal wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 11:04 pmI have had 4 recent employees that tested positive. I wouldn’t rule out a version of that in the US, flying, cruises, going to any other country is likely to require proof of vaccination.

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
Like it's been said here many times, if you're not elderly, or suffering from other chronic or life threatening ailments, you probably will be just fine. If you are over 75 and or have other conditions, common sense says you should be very carefull. We are back in lockdown here starting tomorrow due to availability of ICU beds. I truly feel sorry for all the small business owners and employees who keep getting shafted here.Animal wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 11:04 pmI have had 4 recent employees that tested positive. Mrs. CHEEZY went to our GP the other day and asked her point blank about the vaccine. The Dr.'s response:
Old folks: get it for sure
18-60ish meh to probably- depending on your particular situation
18 and under: Nope. Dont bother

Just curious: What about multigenerational households? I live in an area with a lot of Mexican and Filipino households. It's common for little kids and grandparents to live together in the same house.

I'd guess that Doctor was only referring to personal protection, not protection of others that may be vulnerable from transmission that came, say, via an infected 18 year old.
To get this bug under control, 60-70% of ALL people need to get vaccinated. Then it'll, hopefully, mostly die out.
But I don't like some folk's attitudes that seem to only care about themselves. We're better than that (I hope).

most won't admit it, but it mostly comes down to who is afraid of needles and who isn't. its like when the blood bank truck stops and people start saying things like, "oh, i'm not allowed to give blood because i'm hyperbolic". or "i am on a medication that won't allow me to give blood, even though i really want to".FSchmertz wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 12:09 amI'd guess that Doctor was only referring to personal protection, not protection of others that may be vulnerable from transmission that came, say, via an infected 18 year old.

Some of the easiest stickins' I've had were with those huge needles for giving blood. I think thats why she recommended all old timers get the vaccine regardless of their situation.
