Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
so, if you need 60%, that's about 200 million in the US. If they can get 40 million in December (like I have heard), I know that's only dose #1. So they would have to do that many again in Jan with dose #2, plus probably 40 million more. So, if they average 40 million 2nd doses per month, then they could have 200 million by May. Meanwhile, it should start to slow the spread CONSIDERABLY once it gets in motion.FSchmertz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 2:29 amThat's what I read too.Animal wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 1:21 am60 to 70% i hear.FSchmertz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 12:42 am Another reason to get lot of people vaccinated is it's likely to bring transmission down. Canada crushed the Covid-19 curve but complacency is fueling a deadly second wave
https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/08/world/ca ... index.htmlOttawa (CNN)"At least we're not as bad as the States."
Those were the words uttered by so many Canadians during the first wave of coronavirus, perhaps without malice although with a good dose of smugness.
But that complacency may have helped fuel a deadly second wave in Canada that is now straining hospital capacity in nearly every region of the country as health officials impose more restrictions and lockdowns.

Assuming they can keep producing the vaccines at high rates (and apparently there's also worries about supplies, things like injection needles/syringes that they may not have considered), it looks like the prediction things will go back to normal by summer is looking good.
Meanwhile, somehow we've got to get through the next few months.

you don't think they have considered injection needles? shit, you should listen to that Army dude that is in charge of this whole supply line. He's thought of every fucking thing you can literally imagine involving these vaccines.FSchmertz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 1:01 pmNot to mention people will be going outside by April, which would slow the spread anyhow.Animal wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 2:40 amso, if you need 60%, that's about 200 million in the US. Since last summer they have talked about the supplies involved and what things are going to have to be ramped up (vials was the big one). So, I feel pretty sure they have at least thought of everything. Problems always happen with supplies, but it won't be because they hadn't already thought of it.
On the subject of vials, i want to say that they typically have to be glass because that's the safest for vaccines to be stored. But that was going to be impossible and someone has come up with a compromise that works and can meet supply. I don't remember the details, I heard this months ago.

It’s largely preventable and risk factors are well known. Yet somehow the folks choose to die instead.

More than likely a family event. That's where I'm reading most COVID cases are coming from now. It's why "the experts" were worried about increased cases during Thanksgiving and worried there would be even more from Christmas.Biker wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 9:05 pmO wonder what superspreader event he went to? P.S. But I wouldn't be at all surprised if they found he cheated and went to some sort of political event. These political creatures can't seem to help themselves.
