i know a girl that spent her whole career at HP and I called her a few years ago to see if there was any way to get a new HP-41C or a rebuilt one or anything and she said no. She put me in touch with someone and they don't have anything like it now. I mean, they have some that will do more than it does, but not the same one i have used forever.

i remember when i got out of college and went to work for a big construction company. the head estimator was this old guy and he used an old ass calculator. big desk top thing that when you hit the "add" button it would blink a few times before the answer came up. It only had one memory button for one entry. I was kidding him about it one time and asked what he was going to do when it crapped out. He took me over to his closet and he had about a dozen of them stacked up in there. He said that years earlier that was the only model the company bought. And ever since, every time someone upgrades, he gets their old ones.
