I will say that the judge should have sequestered the jury. I dont like the optics of a jury seeing and sensing the tension and the political rhetoric that took place during the trial
The jury pool was tainted by the payout to the family before the trial started.
Things that potentially taint the jury pool before the trial starts are the subject of intense scrutiny and the questioning of every potential juror in the jury selection process. That's why y'all have to have one.
I attended jury service over here and the questions to everyone collectively were 'know anyone involved? No? Well fuck you then you're up and it'll be three weeks. Don't google shit.'

i've been on felony juries over here and the vetting process is pretty stupid. yeah, they ask you questions that are simple and vague and basically if you aren't kin to anyone in the room you are okay. The only thing that I saw that got people excused was if they flat out said they couldn't convict anyone of whatever the charge was. And then after you are picked its pretty much "don't talk to anyone about the case".
Its no different here than how you describe it there.

Maybe in low profile cases, which here they all are even when they are not. It is literally illegal for nancy grace to do a blow by blow of how someone is guilty each night here, though she would struggle since the trials aren't televised for entertainment anyway. She would be in contempt of court for risking prejudicing proceedings. The defense here is planning to raise the argument that it's not fair that y'all make a circus out of high profile cases, which prejudices them. It clearly does, but it's an argument against your legal system rather than any particular case within it, which is why the appeal has to fail.

You lefties sure have a funny way of pickin yer heroes.
Whose picking heroes? Be specific.
By any measure white or black Clarence Thomas should be front and center one of the greatest examples of coming from nothing to be somebody, black or white. But he is purposefully excluded from the narrative.

obviously the heroes of today are George Floyd, AOC, Maxine Waters, Camilla Harris and Nancy Pelosi. Biden's America!
George Floyd is clearly a leftist hero. They’re talking sainthood for the guy FFS
No one here has said George Floyd is their hero
The state of Minnesota disagrees.
The state of Minnesota doesn't post here you dumb cowboy
i suspect the mayor of minneapolis is a lefty. which is what started this. i realize you are playing a child's game of trying to spin it into what you meant, but i'm just going to stick with the comment you started this over.

Ok, so no one here picked any heroes. Got it.
Pretty sure Chuck meant the collective "you". There is no doubt The Left has elevated Floyd to an almost mythical status. Before the paint dried on all the murals all of his flaws were forgotten. Not saying either view is right or wrong-just dont make him out to be something he's not.
