He reminds me of the Smash Mouth lead singer.

As I remember I saw John open for SRV (year before he died) and Robert Cray (was the headliner) at The Gorge. I even remember then thinking how much I enjoyed him. My wife at the time could not understand why him and SRV was opening for Cray as they were both so much better to listen to.

The Gorge is a great venue, been to several concerts there.hawkfan8812 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 4:41 pm As I remember I saw John open for SRV (year before he died) and Robert Cray (was the headliner) at The Gorge. I was at CWU when the winery decided to create that lower area with the grass and the stone terraces. They would let you buy 2 bottles of wine at the tasting room next to the parking lot and then walk down for the show. Lots of small acts back then.Homebrew wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 7:18 pmThe Gorge is a great venue, been to several concerts there.hawkfan8812 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 4:41 pm As I remember I saw John open for SRV (year before he died) and Robert Cray (was the headliner) at The Gorge. Boom, 2nd or 3rd year Pearl Jam plays, ten of thousands of kids show up, one kid falls off the rock cliff where the big grass seating area is now and everything changes.
After redo after redo it is a great place to see music, but there were some painful transition years there.
edit I guess the changes started when MCA bought it in 1993, so that first Pearl Jam was probably 92 or 91

Re: what are you listening too?
In the beginning you would have to walk through acres of grape farm to get from the parking lot to the amphitheater. I remember thinking then "people are going to ruin these grapevines". They did.
And their wine was terrible.
