$2 trillion has to be a gross exaggeration. In 2011, when Obama's first term was only a year old, the total cost of the war in Afghanistan was estimated at $443 billion. Then during Trump, spending fell to about $45 billion per year. So, if you figure during Trump they spent $200 billion ($50 bill/yr) and prior to Obama they had spent about $443 billion. Then that would mean that Obama spent $1.4 trillion on that war during his 8 years.

Stapes doesn't care about spreading misinformation as long as it supports his narrow views.

Do you think that I or biker believe them to all be 100% accurate? Stapes has claimed numerous times that he only posts factual things.CaptQuint wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:22 pmDo you realize when Biker does it or do you just kinda "aw shucks" and scroll on down to the next post?

a minor detail? replacing $1 trillion with $2 trillion? That isn't a minor detail. That is straight up political misinformation.CaptQuint wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:41 pmSo what is the acceptable level of out and out complete lie troll posts are acceptable to you? I wouldn't call a trillion dollars a minor detail when the argument is about how much we spent.CaptQuint wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:41 pmSo what is the acceptable level of out and out complete lie troll posts are acceptable to you? In all honesty I take most memes with a grain of salt. I'm not relying on memes for my news.CaptQuint wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:41 pmSo what is the acceptable level of out and out complete lie troll posts are acceptable to you? Re: Political meme thread for both sides of the spectrum.
So, when you are talking about the cost of the Afghanistan war, do you really feel its honest to throw in the costs of the Iraq war? Or in an effort to defend some cartoon are you going to attempt to make the case that there is no distinction between the two wars?CaptQuint wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:55 pmAnimal wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:47 pma minor detail? replacing $1 trillion with $2 trillion? There is no distinction between the two except one was much, much longer. Is it any better to call it a trillion each?
