Edit, I missed where it said he changed permissions in NSFW so that seems pretty damning.

First, it was a compliment, albeit a back-handed one. You and I have our forum differences, but a couple of members suggested you to become a mod, and I haven't regretted that decision at all. I don't have to like you, but I can respect the job you do here, as I do Biker's job as mod. Even if he was an unmitigated ass towards me back at the old UJ/Pol forum, I respect the job he's done here. Both of you are doing just fine as board mods. If you don't want the position anymore, that would be sad.

Second, the log entries you saw were *after* smart ass bitch PM'd me about the forum issue. I noticed I originally could not lock the thread, and saw no inherited permissions, so I copied the general forum's permissions to gain the thread lock function, and locked the thread. That had no effect on whether or not the whole forum was hidden at that point or beforehand. I went off to work yesterday, and came back to finding the whole forum was deleted. At that point, there's not way to do any postmortem to see what the issues were. Ocne a forum is gone, it's gone for good. But I did recreate the forum as best I could, and it's working as intended. If I inadvertently messed up the forum's permissions, it certainly was not my intention, but I do not believe that was the case.

I've enjoyed my time here as board admin, and I worked to the best of my abilities to keep the board running as a social home to its members. So if I've lost the confidence of the general membership overt this debacle, I'll ask the site admin to make another and perhaps more respected member the board admin and then resign my position to the new admin.

May I offer a constructive solution. I believe it will defuse the tensions around here. Create a position of "Head Mod" and appoint me. I swear I will faithfully execute my responsibilities over this great mass of unwashed heathens in a tame manner. Fricken Drama everywhere.

so...if i can ask. wtf happened. not including any call outs. What physically happened so we all know how to respond. sounds like you got a pm (2nd time) to remove a thread. somehow it became public when it should have remained private. How did that happen? then you deleted the thread and didn't know it deleted the forum and the foot print that was posted supports that. it certainly doesn't sound like there was any malice was intended

How did it become public in the first place?

admittedly, i'm a dumbass when it comes to computer stuff, but it seems pretty obvious to me. smart ass bitch had some kind of reason for wanting a thread locked in that NSFW forum and around 7 am that morning (my time Central) she pm'd QD to lock the thread after she deleted whatever she deleted. If I am reading his post right, in order to lock the thread he (QD) had to change the forum permissions, so he copied the permissions from the general forum. Which, inadvertently opened that forum up to unregistered members. I don't think he had any idea it did that at the time. But he did lock the thread and smart ass bitch was happy.

Then around 9 am smart ass bitch happened to check that forum and realized you could see it if you were not registered. That's when she pm'd Hawk, Biker and QD about it and started posting in the General Forum about it being open to the public. Biker went in and reset it to be a private forum, but at the same time he was doing that, Hawk just deleted the entire forum.

Now that's my hillbilly, dumb ass, contractor version of what I think happened.
