Not completely. The numbers in Cali alone tell us that its enough to swing the pop vote in one direction
If the pop vote is close enough across every other state, something which is also true of every other state.

Then you want a nationwide popular vote, since that would require campaigning in all the states, not just the swing states.

The UK does not elect a prime minister at all, each constituency elects an MP by majority vote, just like congress is elected. The largest party or combination of parties then selects a prime minister to lead them. The EC was a compromise between direct election and having congress select a president itself, because the failing fathers figured y'all were too stoopid to make an informed choice. It has never worked as intended.

The new compromise would be to have at least a representative distribution of EC votes based on how the voting went down in each state. The idea that all of PA's EC votes go red or blue based on a very tight race is pretty dumb. It would be more representative if the states were treated as purple rather than a binary choice of red or blue with 100% of the EC votes going to either side. That way there could begin to be representation from 3rd parties as well. Having a third party candidate stealing 10 or 15 EC votes from the big 2 would begin to build momentum for different options than just Repub or Dems.

I ćould get on board with that. How awesome would it have been to see our boy Gary Johnson getting a few electoral votes? It would go a long way to legitimizing 3rd party candidates and votes.

Did a little further investigating. The meme is mostly correct however the guys name was Alec not Alex and he died in 2017. I think the assistance program did not start until sometime in 2018. Still outrageous prices for insulin though.

We know he died because he couldn't afford his price gouged insulin, and therefore would not have died in any other developed nation. Criticising him for not finding the right charity to beg from doesn't really make that better does it?

Let me lay the smackdown on this shit.

I make what should be considered good money in this economy. I have some CC debt, a mortgage, tool dealer bills ect. I have ONE drug I take named BRIO that is $360 a month. Thats $12 every morning when I puff it into my lungs. Plus my Coumadin, the Afib meds, the diuretic pills, the Warfarin, the albuterol inhaler, the alprozalam. I am stretched every week to make my bills, and some days I cut pills in half because I cant afford the prescription that week. I've applied for assistance for my Brio, but I make too much money. Nevermind I could choose to lose my house or quit my job and get it. Its the same with hospital bills, if you have nothing, you can get sponsored. If you work and are trying to just get by, you cant get shit. You have to lose your home, job, everything before you can get any help.

And I'm not even going into to $40,000 I owe one hospital, and $19,000 I owe another. I went from a 725 credit rating to a 565 in 6 months. I'm fucked.

I AM the poster child of what universal healthcare would prevent.

Forshizzle my Canadian brother.

My second born had non stop complications in the womb. Countless hospital visits and delicate tests. I cant imagine what the cost would have been. Frankly it would have been too much to handle and we probably would have aborted in the first month.

When she came out, her hips were dislocated. More surgery and visits.

She has her 6th birthday May 1. She is perfectly normal and by far the smartest in her class. Teachers use her as an assistant.

Total cost: About $250 for all the parking.

No way any American will convince me their way is better.

And we might pay more taxes so our system is available to EVERYONE. Not just the rich. Bottom line is when someone gets sick or injured here, they get fixed. No questions asked. Down in 'Merica, you have to decide if you are going to save the life or go bankrupt.

The only thing your system accomplishes is making the rich, richer. But thats true about everything down there. Wars, business, etc.

Keep telling yourself your way is better. I'll stay up here and look in envy.
