When the wife and I got married in a church we were talking with this great priest at a church that provided meals to the homeless. He's telling the story about coming in one afternoon and seeing 10+ men lined up in the parking lot. He tells us he's thinking they are awfully orderly so he checks it out. They are standing in line waiting their turn to fuck the prostitute behind some bushes next to the highway for a few bucks before their kitchen opens.

The homeless are just not in a healthy state of mind.

I did an underground tour in Seattle last year. They said the homeless used to be able to stay in the tunnels. Then someone found out they could make money off the underground space and they kicked them all out.

There is a Docu. on the homeless is Las Vegas living in the underground storm tunnels. Its quite stunning to see how these people live, and to hear their stories as to how the got to that position. Unless you are a 1%'er. most normal folks are just 1-2 financial tragedies from living with them.

Wow. Are those numbers from Rhode Island's prison MAT program impressive or what? What a smart way to try and keep criminals off drugs. Legit saving lives. The ex-heroin addict grandpa's story is awesome to see.

Rhode Island has had some advantages as it has developed its program. The state has budgeted about $2 million for it annually, and there are no county jails. All inmates are housed at one campus, which allows them to continue treatment if they move from jail to prison, for example. The program also helps inmates get insured and transition to treatment providers upon their release.

If the numbers from the video were right and the Pugent Sound area is spending a billion dollars annually to "help w/" homeless problem........ they are doing it way wrong.

Both Seattle and SF consistently rank in the top 10 cities to live. Those publications must not give much weight to poo poo and piss on the street when grading the cities.

Not sure about SF, but this overt homeless invasion is relatively new in Seattle.

I was homeless in Austin, Tx back in the 80's and I can tell you that it actually becomes a preferred lifestyle after awhile. Meeting folks in the same socio-economic situation can be bonding. People help each other when they can. The daily challenges and struggles are stimulating. I actually started to embrace it.

SF is banning shampoo and lotion bottles from hotels and motels to reduce plastic waste.



The city passes out 4.5 million syringes a year to its finest.
