Wait, so who are the people claiming those things are "killing children"?
Or would yet another of your bullshit Tweeters be trying to make a false equivalence?

Spending inordinate amounts of time on those trivial items and next to nothing on important matters like violence involving firearms implies that Rethugs/Magats think the trivial items are more important.

That's because they're either idiots or assume the folks that vote for them are idiots. Think the second type of politician is the worst, the "know betters but must say talking points anyhow."

The, uh "qualifications" to be Speaker isn't exactly an extensive list?

ZERO legislation passed in over 16 years, and the GOP goes, "THAT'S OUR GUY!!".

Pathetic. The American electorate deserves so much better than Gerrymandered Gym fondling his way through this process.

No.. the guy your caucus voted with that caused this mess is who wants him to be speaker. fortunately for you, the GOP caucus is stopping it from happening. that's how its supposed to work. unlike what your party did.

Wrong.

He needed the Democrats to extend the date of the government shutdown. Dems were willing to assist in providing the extension. When McCarthy turns around and decides to trash the Dems publicly, wouldn't it make sense that the Dems said, "Screw this guy." and embarrass him with the vote to vacate?

Stop being disingenuous about this. It's 100% on the Republicans for not being able to save McCarthy despite having a majority.

No, not wrong. He did need the democrats to vote on the continuing resolution. Because Matt Gantz and his 5 or 6 MAGA buddies were trying to shut down the government. So, he made a deal with them to vote to pass it and whatever other concessions that meant. That pissed off Matt and MAGA and they threatened to have him removed. McCarthy figured the democrats would have his back since he just did what no one thought he would do, so he told Matt Gantz to go fuck himself, and you know the rest.

The only "Trashing" that McCarthy did was when Biden announced that he would veto the CR if McCarthy voted on it. Biden saying that was stupid and I think that anyone following the events at the time would agree it was stupid. I thought it was going to derail the entire CR vote.

MCarthy also led a failed impeachment inquiry. Why would the Dems be interested in saving him? They gave him a lifeline to delay the shutdown. He then turned around and trashed the Dems publicly.

A deal WAS in place with Biden. This could have been prevented. Too bad the whackadoo caucus of REPUBLICANS had the ability to drop the guillotine on McCarthy as part of his Speakership negotiations.

https://kfor.com/hill-politics/schumer- ... ith-biden/

Again, why would Democrats support someone who went back on a deal that was in place in June?

“Remember, bipartisan majorities agreed to funding levels back in June. The leaders of the House, the Senate, the White House, we all shook hands on this deal, but now the Speaker, and only the Speaker, is going back on his word,” Schumer said on the Senate floor.

McCarthy was a lame duck the second he "won" the Speaker's gavel. It was his ONLY goal, and he was willing to put his legacy on the line to satisfy the MAGA caucus. In the words of Trump, "Republicans eat their own.".

trying to educate you on things you know absolutely nothing about is kind of like dragging a dead weight across a desert. its possible, but its very slow and hard work. However, I can tell that you are gradually getting there. You are finally beginning to grasp just a little what its like to govern a house that is as equally split as this House is. Its unprecedented to see a House with only a handful of a majority. You kind of saw it with Pelosi, but she had a bit more of a majority than McCarthy had. I don't think there has ever in the history been a house with as small of a majority as there is right now. But you always have to play the hand you are dealt. And that's what McCarthy had to do. The fact that 100% of the democratic caucus was willing to throw the baby out with the bath water is where we are right now.
