Re: YouTube, post something worth watching
yeah, i remember reading about some of this when that spacecraft left our solar system and was traveling at some ungodly speed. and i was just curious how long it would take it to get to the next star to maybe take a picture of something insane. and even at that speed (around 38,000 mph) it will take about 40,000 years before it gets to the nearest star. That's when you start realizing how impossible it really is for any UFO's to be flying around us.
I will say this. 12 feet away from a golf ball, certainly puts the size of the sun into perspective.

Agree. I think I outgrew that whole UFO thing when I realized that even if a civilization could figure out how to travel at the speed of light, and wanted to travel across the Milky Way Galaxy, it would take almost a half a BILLION years. Pretty sure if they flew past our Solar System, the best we could hope for from them would be a yawn (If they yawned). Talk about being locked in somewhere with your relatives.

when your typical audience is seated on barstools, complete accuracy isn't required as long as you are adequately exaggerating.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 2:15 amAs always, Mr. Always Wrong is wrong again.CentralTexasCrude wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 1:56 am Agree. Martin Mull is a terribly underrated comedic actor.
If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

I've been listening to these lately. I find them hilarious and generally light hearted, which after dealing with the shit I do, I need. I had never come across the HFY sci fi reddit before a week ago, but it has become my background noise at work.

I opened up IG for the first time in ages a couple days ago and DM's face popped up. I still want to get her mouth pregnant.

BTW, for those that haven't visited YouTube for awhile, pretty incredible what they (Google) have done lately. Just a bunch of movies free (with ads if you don't have ad blocker). Real quality movies. Now if they will just install a 45 second forward/ backward option on their videos, all will be right with the World.

Back when I was a bartender you always had three books available to pretty much answer a lot of questions with some degree of accuracy when the inebriated regulars would wax poetic about the length of a sperm whales dick. We called them the bar books...Guiness Book of World Records, Framers Almanac and the Book of Lists.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 2:33 amIt's the Cliff Clavin effect.Animal wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 2:29 amwhen your typical audience is seated on barstools, complete accuracy isn't required as long as you are adequately exaggerating.Reservoir Dog wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 2:15 amAs always, Mr. Always Wrong is wrong again.CentralTexasCrude wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 1:56 am Agree. I would think that if they start discussing whale dicks it is the time to cut them off.Ricrude wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 3:53 pmBack when I was a bartender you always had three books available to pretty much answer a lot of questions with some degree of accuracy when the inebriated regulars would wax poetic about the length of a sperm whales dick.
