Looks like recycled generic hash. But the humour might save it.

Saw this article tonight. Filming is starting in Toronto later this month through October. No word on air date.nerd_alert wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 12:42 amI didn't find any info on that, I think Season 2 just got the green light, so they are probably furiously writing scripts and getting production going. If I had to guess, I'd say they would shoot for July, which would be a year after Season 1 started airing.

I read that the studio yanked the next Costner segment of Horizon that was supposed to open in theaters in August. I guess that's a sign the first segment bombed pretty spectacularly. I read a few reviews and they said it was too long, had no point, and was terrible at building characters. Other than that the reviews were pretty bad.

Among the critics...yes. Viewers actually had some good things to say. We went to the theater and saw it. I liked it but they did something unique at the end. Showed about 3-4 minutes of clips from the upcoming part 2. Visually...its exactly what you would want from a Costner western but where some are put off is the 5 separate story lines that look as they will eventually converge in a firestorm. Think it'll review much better with the critics once part 2 comes out.Animal wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 3:27 pm I read that the studio yanked the next Costner segment of Horizon that was supposed to open in theaters in August. So is this whole thing just going to go to a streaming service now? They will stream part 1 to get more viewers interested. Hype it as much as possible. And then release Part 2 next year some time? I assume that they are totally re-thinking their roll-out strategy now.Ricrude wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 3:36 pmAmong the critics...yes. Viewers actually had some good things to say. Kinda seems that way...probably before Christmas and Yellowstone season 5 premiere. The way its made is not traditional to my thinking. The opening 10 minutes was several different scenes of violence during different time periods. If you understand the thinking and desperation behind the westward expansion and the time periods it makes more sense. I could see where people would question the setup. I think they'll get a lot more traction with people streaming but I would suggest seeing it at the theatre...visually it's worth it and the stories will keep you interested...some real bastards that meet their ends in it. A good way to beat the heat at matinee time.Animal wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 3:38 pmSo is this whole thing just going to go to a streaming service now? It sounds as though it might have been better distributed as a series than as a 4 part movie.Ricrude wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 3:46 pmKinda seems that way...probably before Christmas and Yellowstone season 5 premiere. I was not a fan of the PG version of this and gave it a 4 of 10...but watched the R rated version this weekend and was pleasantly surprised as it actually much improved, but each is still long at 3 hours per...7 out of 10. Very violent and sexy time was good but way more rounded.
