Apparently Sharia Law is back on the table.
During Gus Biliarakis virtual town hall last night a woman from the Villages was genuinely concerned the U S was going to be governed under Sharia Law.

It's comical how the lefties ridicule the "sharia law" thing.
I'd suggest a trip to Dearborn Michigan to see what's happening. I live a short drive away and I'm not saying Sharia law is implemented but a close look reveals subtle and not so subtle moves to that end. Many of these are not official of course but societal as Dearborn is predominantly Muslim.
Try walking your dog in downtown Dearborn and see what happens (Muslims hate dogs).
Try complaining about the loud "call to prayers" early in the morning that violates the noise ordinance that doesn't get enforced.
Try being a non-Muslim realtor in the Dearborn area (you WILL get blackballed)
Try being a woman and walking alone in downtown Dearborn.

By the way, I don't blame all Republicans. A number of them sat out the last election, but couldn't give their vote to Trump, but couldn't give it to Harris. I could be a bit upset with with the non-vote, but I can also understand why they just couldn't.

I think you have to be fair either way:
Yes, the whole "Sharia Law!!!!!" thing does get way overused and it's turned into a dogwhistle.

But at the same time...

The flip side is that there really are groups of fundamentalists that are pushing hard for more than just "sympathetic" policies. These folks want to fundamentally change how Dearborn operates.

As I said, I live only a short drive away and visit quite often. The Arabic food is on another level there. I've seen the steady changes first hand and I know several people that have moved because of the often outright hostility to non Muslims when the neighborhoods are in transition.
