when I was a kid watching Lost in Space reruns, she already seemed so middle aged. Truly amazing she lasted this long, though personally I don't know if I'd want to make it to 100.

I think she was still in relatively decent shape, so maybe not so bad.

One of my uncles turned 101 in Sept. He's still pretty alert mentally. Forgets the occasional thing. I called him and talked to him a couple days after his b-day and he sounded great. Still walks by himself though he does have a bothersome hip and uses a cane. Lives on his own, tho my cousin stops in everyday and there is an Amish lady that stops in to wash clean and tidy up the house. He's a pretty amazing guy.

It really is amazing how age hits everyone differently.

Yeah, he's definitely an outlier. But its not unheard of. Betty White was 99 when she passed and still doing well until then. Dick Van Dyke will be 100 in a couple months and he looks fantastic.

Wish I had my uncle's genes but he married my Dad's half-sister. On my Mom's side, her great aunt is still alive. She was doing pretty well and living on her own up until about two years ago. She would have been around 97 then I think. She's in a home now. She has to be extremely close to 100 by now. Outlived her sisters and brothers, her daughter and most of her nieces and nephews and a few great ones.

Well, it wasn't really her fault. Bea Benaderet (the mom) was deathly ill with cancer. Missed about half of season 5 and only filmed like the first 5 or 6 episodes of season 6. June showed up in season 6, episode 7 after Bea had passed. I imagine they were looking for a face that America was familiar with and loved. Losing Bea certainly hurt but the show was changing anyways since the girls were getting older and weren't dealing with the teenage drama stuff anymore.

Reminds me of how Bonanza tried to deal with Dan Blocker's passing. He died between seasons 13 & 14. The show never recovered. S14 was terrible in my opinion and a good part of why the show was cancelled. That and the general move away from Westerns and rural/country shows in the early 70's.

It was her fault. no one forced her to sign that contract. There has only ever in the history of the world, been one TV cast replacement that turned out for the better. That was replacing Coach with Woody on Cheers.

How about Star Trek Voyager when Seven of Nine replaced Kes? :-D

That first episode of Bonanza with Little Joe working his feelings had to be the most depressing episode ever.

Yeah, not only did Joe lose Hoss, but his new wife (Bonnie Bedelia) burnt up in a house fire. It was just on MeTV a week or so ago.

Marion Ross (Mrs Cunningham on Happy Days) just turned 97. Looks like she is doing well.

I thought of her the other day as I JACKED MY COCK! Thought how enjoyable it woul be to fill her "old dried up pussy" (as Arnold would say) with a "big load of cum" , but then I thought I don't want to do that with her, she seemed like such a cool lady and who knows what positions she would like?
Kidding aside , lost in space, saw her I think on some westerns seemed like a class act. side note, my cousin always thought I was Dr. Smith from lost in space, i thought I already edited? but, yes , not star trek, lost in space not star trek. Staretd when I was about 10, he was only about 3 or 4 months older, but for about 4 or 5 years "way back then" He'd always say "hello Dr.smith" "Never fear, Smith is here!"

Bonanza was the 1st tv show I ever saw in color TV. That set must of been $1k ,in the 50's money. The colors were not great but ok. I found I was so preoccupied with the colors being off I didn't pat attention to the drama of the show as much. Some director ,I think Hichcock , said drama storyies are best made in black and white,,especially when Hoss had a green tint that was not normal.

I once worked with a guy who finally decided to retire from trucking at 75yo.
At the time of his retirement his mom was 102 and still lived by herself.
