OK.
Removing sexually explicit books from elementary school Libraries and classrooms is not "banning books" as those books are still available basically everywhere. That's more like an "age restriction"; not a ban.
Why do you want sexually explicit material in grade schools?
Nice spin now do the books on slavery
Nice dodge.
That's not "spin" you fucking retard. That's what words actually mean.
Terrible spin pedo protector try answering the question
It's the same answer, retard.
Now, why do you want sexually explicit books in grade schools?
I never said I or anyone else did because they never were.
Now pedo boy why don’t you want books that mention slavery in classrooms?
I'm going try and decipher that 1st sentence as to mean that you or anyone else was never in favor of sexually explicit books in grades schools. Yet, somehow they are (were) there. That is what the whole thing is about. If they were never there then there would be nothing to bitch about, right? Google is your friend and so is YouTube. You can look up any number of videos with parents reading explicit material found in classrooms and school libraries to school boards.
About the slavery thing. I guess I'll have to educate you here as well:
No one wants to ban the teaching of slavery and there is no ban on teaching about it anywhere in the United States at this time.
Since you only get your information from Occupy Democrats and JoJo from Jersey of course you have been fed incomplete information. Your confusion results in what is being taught in the context of the slavery discussion. This may get complicated for your pea brain so buckle up:
The problem(s) that are trying to be addressed in that context result from the introduction of controversial theories and arguments that share roots in CRT or other divisive racial rhetoric. Critical Race Theory originated as a college level program and it's controversial premise, nature and conclusions are well documented. What is being addressed is the attempted introduction of those college level and other divisive concepts into the elementary teaching of slavery. It's not about "not teaching slavery" as you have been told. Slavery is now and always will be taught.

The fundamental issue with teaching slavery in school is the widespread failure to teach it accurately, comprehensively, and in its proper context as a central, foundational institution of American history with an enduring legacy.

This failure results in a lack of basic knowledge among students about its role in shaping the nation and perpetuating racial inequality today.

The challenges in teaching about slavery often lead to a sanitized, fragmented, or minimized understanding of its true nature. The core problems include:

1. Lack of Context and Trivialization: Slavery is often presented as an isolated, primarily Southern phenomenon ("peculiar institution") or reduced to a series of individual cruel acts. This overlooks its nature as a brutal, systemic institution of profit that was economically vital to both the North and the South, and explicitly protected by the Constitution. This de-contextualization prevents students from understanding its significance as the central cause of the Civil War.

2. Insufficient Focus on Brutality and White Supremacy: There is often a reluctance to discuss the inhumanity, violence, and trauma that defined the lives of enslaved people. The ideology of white supremacy—which was created explicitly to justify chattel slavery and continues to influence society—is often omitted or insufficiently explored. Instead, lessons sometimes focus disproportionately on narratives of escape or resistance, which, while important, can inadvertently diminish the scope of the oppression.

3. Inadequate Educational Materials and Preparation: Many teachers report that their textbooks are inadequate, providing fragmented or even misleading coverage. Furthermore, many educators feel underprepared and uneasy discussing the topic, worrying about age-appropriateness, causing emotional discomfort for students (guilt in white students, trauma or shame in Black students), or making the topic a "racial flashpoint" in the classroom.

4. Ignoring the Lasting Legacy: A crucial omission is the failure to connect the history of slavery to the current reality of racial inequality in the United States. The exploitative labor systems (like sharecropping), disenfranchisement mechanisms (like literacy tests), and discriminatory social systems (like Jim Crow) that emerged immediately after emancipation were built on the foundation of slavery, and their effects persist in structural racism today.

5. Use of Harmful Pedagogical Practices: In an attempt to make the history "real," some teachers have unfortunately used traumatic simulations or reenactments (like mock slave auctions or role-playing the Middle Passage). These practices trivialize profound, generational trauma and inflict harm on students, particularly Black students, by reducing the experience of slavery to a game or performance.

The overall result is that students often leave school with an insufficient and inaccurate understanding of an event that is critical to comprehending American history and contemporary racial dynamics.
