Out Sick

Yeah, this new variant of RSV really makes me miss the good old days of Covid. Our 16 month old grandson, that we got it from, was ill for nearly two weeks. The Mrs. was down for 10 days including an ER visit, and I am on day five. Super fun shit, said no one ever.

Out of curiosity, had you been vaccinated for it or not? Wondering if it is still bad even after the jab. A friend of mine got it about 2 years ago and said it was the worst.

No jabs for either Covid or the RSV, and I just found out about the RSV vax. The Mrs. recently got the flu shot, Covid booster and the shingles vaccine and none of those helped. And I can confirm about what your friend says, this shit sucks.

Got the Covid & Flu on the same day this year. Seemed to hit a little harder this year. Tired and had achey joints for about a day and a half. Better than either one at full strength I suppose. I know they pushed the RSV vax locally here a couple years ago since it was quite prevalent. Lots of commercials on the radio. I had never heard of it, but after hearing some horror stories from people that had it, i got it. Haven't been terribly sick in years so guess I never got it. Almost attribute most of that to not being around kids or people with kids, lol.

Isn’t RSV primarily a childhood illness? Didn’t realize older people are prone to it

That's the odd part with this one. It traditionally affects very young kids and older adults the worst, and those with any respiratory issues. The Mrs. and are late 50s and generally healthy but we both tested positive for it, and it's very not fun.
