If anyone will go back and look at the nominations for the Golden Globes for "The Irishman", everybody is there. From the specs, director, actors (Pacino, Pesci , etc) with one notable exception. Even though he had the leading role, De Niro didn't get one nomination. It's a "STFU with the political BS" from the higher ups.FreakShowFanatic wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2020 10:23 pmSure. Re: Post nothing for good reason (NSFW)
i'm not questioning the cause or the importance of it, i was just more curious if you had some tie to it (ie. a friend or whatever that had been caught up in it). everyone these days seems to be big into animal rights and vegan this and that. it is sort of unexpected to hear this one, but I have heard you mention it many times over the years.Biker wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 8:09 pmFor the same reason your mantra is banning killy looking guns
But seriously, its horrific crime and every person should care more about it than they presently do. Imagine being a family of a loved one who just up and disappeared, knowing there's a good chance that they had been sold into the sex trafficking market. Its far worse than murder IMO. Im a sustaining contributor to two worthy org, AbolitionNC and the Polaris Project. Check them out
to be honest, until you mentioned human trafficking in relation to massage parlor sex, I had never equated the two.
Edit: and funny you should mention, i'm on the way out the door right this second to buy an AR-15.

Florida may be "green" for those statutes, but it's questionable how much help they really are in controlling any actual trafficking. Despite them, the tourist district of Orlando is considered one of the very worst areas (some say the very worst) for human trafficking, and the traffickers basically simply disregard the laws against such trade. Not far behind is the Kissimmee tourist area east of Disneyworld. The cops are out-numbered against this business.
If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

Re: Post nothing for good reason (NSFW)
She got 6 months in jail for her little tirade...lol
A 20-year-old British woman said her intense fear of flying made her get so hammered that she tried browbeating male passengers into joining the “mile high club” and attacked crew members, biting a flight attendant and an anesthesiologist who was on board.
That defense wasn’t enough to keep her out of jail after a courtroom in England heard details of what witnesses called a four-hour rampage and an anesthesiologist said was worse than anything he’d ever seen in a hospital emergency room.
The ruckus started when an already drunk Demi Burton, 20, boarded the eight-hour Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to Manchester, England, last May 9. She was traveling from Australia, where she had just spent three months visiting relatives, according to The Telegraph.
She’ll now spend twice that amount of time in jail.
The inebriated Burton proceeded to order and guzzle red wine until cabin crew refused her service, witnesses said in her trial. At 30,000 feet, she “shocked two men by making crude comments about them having mid-air sex,” the Manchester Evening News reported.
“It appears she was drunk before getting on the flight and she started making a number of inappropriate sexual comments to a number of male passengers on the flight,” prosecutor Claire Brocklebank said, according to The Telegraph. “Two in particular remember hearing comments, and at first they laughed it off but it then became more and more increasingly inappropriate, and she asked them to join the mile high club.”
But Burton didn’t get the hint.
“Both tried to end conversation with her, but she carried on,” Brocklebank continued. “One said he felt quite shocked by her comments, and people around her started to ask her to be quiet as others could hear.”
hat’s what got her cut off, at the request of a passenger. However, it didn’t quite take. After being refused two red wines from one flight attendant, she approached another who had not yet been given the message, so was served the wine, Brocklebank said.
“Ten minutes later she was asking for more and was shouting, and the decision was made it would not be appropriate to allow this particular passenger anymore alcohol,” Brocklebank said.
When the crew said her drinking time was over, Burton then went “berserk,” witnesses told the Evening News, “as 259 passengers looked on.”
So began a four-hour rampage that required six people – passengers and crew – to restrain her, Brocklebank told the court, according to the Manchester Evening News. Burton headbutted people severely enough to bruise them, and bit two others. One was an anesthesiologist who said her behavior rivaled anything he’d see in the A&E, the British version of the E.R. The other biting victim was a flight attendant.
Burton was arrested upon landing.
