Turn off whatever media brainwashing you have on at the moment and answer me one question.
If this country had a million really good coronavirus tests back in January, and they put you in charge of those tests and you could have done whatever you wanted with them. Tell me, without talking about Trump, what you would have done with those tests to keep an outbreak of cases from happening in the United States.
1) Don't let anyone into the U.S. from overseas. (Once you have enough proven tests, this may be relaxed if they agree to testing and awaiting results in quarantine).
2) U.S. citizens coming back would either get tested or quarantined for at least 14 days.
3) Test anyone in the hotspot areas (Washington, New Rochelle N.Y.)
4) Produce 100 million more tests as fast as possible, and screw the stupid regulations that prevented it/declare emergency allowing bypass. Then test everyone that you can as fast as possible.
P.S. To do all this, an emergency would need to be declared far earlier than happened. I think that might not have been possible in the time frame.

Do you understand that we are just in the beginning of this you stupid asshole? Are you that dumb? What happens if this goes to 100,000 sick? 1,000,000 sick? We don't know who is ill right now because there are no tests? Fuck me your stupid.
calm down, dummy. I do realize we are at the beginning of this. That's why I am so curious why you think its already so all fucked up. You have no ideas. You are only out to spread bullshit for political propoganda purposes. That much is glaringly clear.
You point out all of these failures and yet you know as well as anyone that nothing would have changed where we are at right now. and its only going to be extremely vigilant practices by everyone in order to keep the spread to as slow of a pace as possible. And there are plenty of tests available.
I will have to go back to quote the one thing that you wrote a few days ago. You posted some prediction about the number of people that would be in the ICU's in the next week or something. I remember it being a staggering number. I will look for it.

So when push comes to shove, government regulations are roadblocks to progress. I hope you remember this after the chaos subsides
Regulations should be as few as necessary. Which is a lot less than we have now.

We now have cidiots driving up from Toronto and cleaning out our grocery stores to avoid 2 hour line-ups there.
The world has truly gone off it's rocker.
you would almost think that with all of this doomsday shopping that the stock market would be going up. lol.

I know what you are talking about. The context of that was certain posters like yourself are constantly downplaying the virus. I keep bringing up the "potential" of this thing and it shouldn't be ignored just because the numbers are low right now. There aren't even enough tests to see how widespread it is.
I am not going to post anymore in this thread about this. For weeks I have been advocating that there is a great threat here while others keep ignorantly saying it's nothing because it only causes mild symptoms in most people but ignore how infectious and lethal it really is to certain groups. If I was so wrong and overhyping it why is the entire world now locking down and going into emergency mode? Are we all delusional or are you just unable to see the trees for the forest?
The funny thing is that if the quarantine and closings have an effect and can flatten the curve of infections like hopefully they will...….the same dummies will come out and say "See! Told you no big deal".
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced the closure of bars, restaurants, movie theaters and gyms effective at 5 p.m. Monday to stem the spread of coronavirus.

I'm out.
and see, this is the point. You seem to think that if people have a "no big deal" attitude, it means that they think its not really happening. If the President says "just go about your business, we will be fine" that he means its not happening.
The reality is that you can be vigilant and downplay it the best you can and it doesn't mean any of that. It just means that you are resolved to the fact that it is here and you will do all you can to avoid it.
Or, you can take the path you seem to have taken and scream and cry and make wild claims thinking you are trying to wake a bunch of people up. When in fact they are awake and think you are crazy.

Well if your going to lie and misrepresent my posts I guess I have to respond. please copy and paste anywhere I was screaming and crying and making wild claims? I'll wait. All my posts have demonstrated nothing more than a sober analysis of the potential threat of this virus.
What you don't like is my blaming trump and his failure of an administrations' response to it. That I cant help you with and I stand by it. If you would like I can post 30 or so Headlines and links to all the other experts and leaders who believe it also but I know nothing gets through the trumpster bubble. It is impervious to truth.

No where did I state testing would have contained. Knowing the rate of infection and who was infected would have been helpful in slowing it down so hospitals aren't overwhelmed

This is an unfortunate given. But the fact is we must slow the spread, no matter what the media and politicians think. I have had meetings with our county head of health, the incident commander during our state of emergency, and believe me, we must slow the spread. Or we will lose the greatest generation.

On the bright side, it would be good for the continued viability of Social Security.
Steps were taken as appropriately and as fast as any administration in the past has done. The idea that it has been ignored or hasn't is a bunch of bullshit. Obama handled his fine as has each time something like this has come up. It's ridiculous to make this political. This is the shit that gets old quick and why I don't like either party. Attack something that he actually did wrong, enough of that to go around.

What should we do?
All grocery stores should only allow senior citizens in the store for the first two hours of each day to allow them to get their supplies without having to be around a bunch of crazed, selfish fucks
Some chains have begun doing just that.

Our governor just set a 8 PM to 5 AM curfew.
Right now it's sort of a suggestion. But I bet it'll become mandatory if folks look like they're ignoring it.
i heard on the radio at lunch that somewhere they said they had their first case of a person that refused to quarantine. So, (in their words) they had to do a "forced quarantine". I assumed they were talking about CaptainQuint.

I just read that it was some guy out in Kentucky and he was caught already leaving his quarantine. Now they have cops guarding his house so he can't leave.
I have been following that site, as well, but he numbers they post as "total affected" seem quite a lot higher than some other sites. I don't know if its a one day delay in reporting or what.
i also wonder if they drop people off the list of "affected" after they are cured? At this point in the story, it seems to me to be more important to know who actively has the virus rather than the total that have had it. Does that make sense?
In other words, they say the number of affected people in the US is 1700 right now (give or take). Does that mean that 1700 people have the virus right now? Or have 1700 had it at some point, but right now there are 950 that actively have it?
Stapes wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2020 8:08 pm
There are almost 4,000 cases so far, not 1700
You do realize that that's roughly 0.00001142857% of the US population. Just sayin'. I'm sure it'll get worse but it seems that society and the government is doing a whole hell of a lot to prevent it.
