130 miles round trip. Over 3 hours of driving. 2 hour wait. $45 dollar repair. The cost of gas.
All to fix a years old Playstation.

No doubt I should upgrade to PS4 (years past due), but for several reasons. I don't play video games enough to justify the cost. I still have PS3 games I haven't even played and some (like skyrim)I've barely scratched. PS3 is just perfect for playing DVD/Blueray. And finally, if I upgrade to PS4, I'm looking at $200+ for the console and $20-40 a pop per game. Screw that.

My son said he'd give me his PS4 if/when he manages to get ahold of a PS5. While I'd appreciate it, problem is, all the games I have are for PS3. All the games he has are for PS4, and we both very different tastes on gaming. So yea, a free if somewhat used PS4 is nice, buying all new copies of games I already have isn't. Not that the chance to actually mod Skyrim wouldn't be a boon, but it's the same fucking gameplay on either console. Sony could have put in a compatibility mode, but they didn't for an obvious financial reason. While the PS3 is old, it works, and gives me all I want.

Like most things on reddit, the comments are where the entertainment is. It seems that younger, lower income people are amazed that there are people out there succeeding financially. To be fair, I sometimes read and hear higher earning people who are out of touch with how little some people get by with.
