It seems very strange to me that someone would brag about the high cost of living somewhere where more money gets you less.

I seriously doubt you're talking about me son, but NJ happens to be a land where white people make the most money in this country. Think about it, you can't be that stupid. Us white people are stupid rich here, how is it going by your neck of the woods? I doubt as well. Detroit is a ghetto slum.

There are a lot of reasons for people to not buy a house in CA. With that said, people who bought ten years ago are probably enjoying quite a bit of appreciation in their home value at this point. Over the long haul, buying in CA has helpt to make more millionaires than just about anything.

yeah, you just have to remember not to subtract out the higher cost of all of your fuel emission stuff you bought during that 10 years, the state taxes, the local taxes, and the higher cost of everything else around you. As long as you only look at the price you paid for the house and the price you sold it for, you're golden.

Did you know that if you bought a $700,000 house in 2010 and your income was $350,000 a year, then in the 10 years you owned the house (in california) you would have paid about $300,000 in state income taxes alone. So great job on that appreciation in the value.

If you're making $350K, you're likely buying more than a $700K house. Until the Tax cuts and Jobs Act of 2018, property taxes weren't as punitive because they were a schedule A deduction. Now that SALTs are capped at $10k, it's a bigger deal. Fuel taxes cost the average person what? A few hundred a year? Not needing A/C makes up for that. Like I said, a lot reasons not to live here, but it aint all bad.

The three golden rules in real estate investment: 1 the location first, 2 the location again, 3 the location. The fewer people that want to live in an area, the cheaper real estate is going to be there. Some people prefer little towns where everyone knows everyone else's business, and that roll their sidewalks up at 9 pm. Some prefer dustbowls where their closest neighbour is 1.6 kilometers away. Other people prefer larger cities, where the weather is more moderate. Sadly, I was born and raised in a city that people from around the world want to live in. My friend sold his house for $1.95 million, and bought a teardown house for $1.4 million. He tore it down, and built a new house for him and his girlfriend. Teardowns selling for $1.4 million. It's insane.

Fsf is a moron. As evidenced by the fact that he thinks there's "winning" on a fucking message board.

Also, your wife refers to her ass as a cookie jar. It's where she gets treats. Now go put some water in her dish.
