A "stealth" jet's transponder stopped working.

So the pilot ejected from a plane that was capable of still flying in auto-pilot mode? But then they couldn't track the F-35 because it's transponder didn't work and it is a "stealth" jet.

Why would the pilot eject if the plane could still fly?

Something is wrong with this story.

I was wondering what was up with that. Why did the pilot bail?
No clue...just sayin he ejected, and speculation was that he was in training in evading other aircraft and turned off the transponder. Wonder what he thought when he ejected...did I turn the coffee pot off this morning?
