First day of gun season for white tails. Got my first ever deer. 125 yard shot with my 300 win mag and blew the top of its heart off. Coincidently that is now cooking with onions and butter. Anyone else had luck?

I gave up big game hunting some time ago, not for any "moral" reasons, I just really sucked at it. I am, however, a pretty avid upland bird hunter. It works better for me because I can make a lot of noise while traipsing around, and I get to make the gun go bang more than once. And as a bonus, the cleaning part of the game only takes minutes and I can do it all over again the next day.
What if it was one guy with six guns?

Around here there is a Coney Island restaurant chain that has really good chili for their hotdogs. Their food is so popular that they started creating "kits" for people to make their own coneys at home. Mrs. Cheezy LOVES their chili. One day I casually looked at the ingredients of the chili and one of them was beef heart. If she found that out she would never eat their food again! :lol:

The original post mentioning heart reminded me of some years back a heart was found at a car wash and at first they thought it was a human heart and it was "the talk of the town" for 3 or 4 days but then they said it was a deer heart. so that ended the excitement.
