The invasive species is only allowed to thrive because it is out-competing native owl species whose population has been thinned by you guessed it...human activity.

Oh jeesh. Without hunters, which are by far more conservative, a lot more animals would go extinct.

or in southern Michigan many more people would hit deer in their car. There is even some sort of legislation or something going on now to allow more deer kills because there are so many deer. Without that hunting it would be devastating to farmers also, because deer eat various crops. My man Ted Nugent talks about it from time to time.

There was a time here in Nebraska in the early 2000s when we were completely overpopulated with deer I applied for and got every deer permit I could and harvested 5 deer in 1 year I didn't have to buy any meat that year
