You really are one of the dumbest republicans on here....and that is saying quite a bit.

What party right now has over 253 bills in 43 states that would restrict voting? All under the camouflage of the big lie of voter fraud they keep pushing. They can't win the popular vote so they are going to suppress the fuck out of black and poor areas from voting.
It's good thing I'm not a republican. That makes the rest of your argument invalid. Also, requiring an ID is not restriction. You're fucking stupid.
Yes....it's just about ID. Good lord you people should do some reading once in awhile.
i can't speak to 253 bills floating around the country, but I can speak to HR 1 and its retarded.

Only if you're republican
More like: only those who have at least a high school level of reading comprehension...

Hopefully it dies in the Senate.

But realistically the tactics it opens up will be used against the blues in the next election(s) instead. Tearing down voting integrity just to fuck over the "other team" with no forethought on how new laws might affect you when said other team is in power ---> that's the American way!

The For the People Act[1] (also known as H.R. 1) is a bill in the United States Congress to expand voting rights, change campaign finance laws to reduce the influence of money in politics, limit partisan gerrymandering, and create new ethics rules for federal officeholder

Definitely scary stuff for Republicans.

you are preaching to the choir that doubled down on two failed impeachments.
Sad, but true.

Cheering for bad bills just because "my team" is pushing them is the height of idiocy.

The precedence that trump created have been expanded by biden. The next m&m has the legal potential to really run amok.

Yeah... because a bills title and summary are never misleading.

Now read the bill and notice how virtually none of that is true.

I like that pushes against the horrible bullshit ruling for Citizens United. Deportation of aliens who violate election laws seems reasonable too.

I don't like how it federalizes elections by removing power from the States, or how it protects itself from judicial review by regulating challenges to DC courts only. Worse, the rules regarding 'ballot harvesting' are weak and easily exploitable.

I also don't care for rebates on campaign donations, allowing campaign funds to be used for personal needs, or anything that clearly shouldn't be in the bill, like pushing for DC to be the 51st state.

The Democrats favorite tactic to use in legislation is to find a hot button racial issue. Like "Voter Suppression" and capitalize on it to make some kind of signature bill. Then pack it with things that would normally be laughed at, but get buried in the bill and can't be discussed because you are "racist" if you are against the bill in the first place. The sad part is that there are some genuinely good things that some genuinely good legislators try to put into the bill and they get lost in the mess.

HR 1 would not make D. C. a state
Congress finds the following:
10 (1) The 705,000 District of Columbia residents

12 self-government, which only statehood can provide.
13 (2) The United States is the only democratic

Sure thing stupid. Let's face facts:

HR 1 would not make D. C. a state
Congress finds the following:
10 (1) The 705,000 District of Columbia residents
11 deserve voting representation in Congress and local
12 self-government, which only statehood can provide.
13 (2) The United States is the only democratic

That's the findings for D.C Statehood. The passage of HR1 would not make Washington DC a state. Stick to concrete, dupe.
