Caravagio
I really like Caravaggio. Really interesting play between light and dark.

You may want to make a note... 24 Nov 2021, PBS, Secrets of the Dead, "The Caravaggio Heist"
Just a reminder about this show tonight.
Thanks for the reminder. I'll check it out.

Lower Pecos Rock Art. Several thousand square miles in West Texas at the confluence of the Pecos, Devil and Rio Grande rivers. Ages from several hundred to several thousands of years ago.

1st Spanish expeditions (including conquistadors) explored the Pecos and Rio Grande rivers starting in the 1500's. Could be from The 1680's Mendoza expedition that was within 80 miles of the rock art location. They tromped all over present day Iraan.

Less than 50 years after Columbus's 1st voyage, conquistador Coronado not only conquered the Pueblos of present N. New Mexico but traveled through the Texas Panhandle and ended up in present day Kansas.

They were not here to do cave art.

Or it's a funeral and the elongated images are ascending souls.

They can carbon age date the art with the pigments used. I've seen some photos where they don't have to. Obvious European, some on horseback even some carrying a cross.
