How any reasonable person can see that and still vote for him is lost on me. Trump was a one trick pony and he lost his pony.

Texas Lt. Gov Dan Patrick said on Fox News Monday night that "lots of" grandparents would be willing to die in order in to save the economy for their grandchildren.

What they're saying: "No one reached out to me and said, as a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren? And if that's the exchange, I'm all in," Patrick said on air.

"I just think there are lots of grandparents out there in this country like me — I have six grandchildren — that's what we all care about ... And I want to live smart and see through this, but I don't want the whole country to be sacrificed. And that's what I see," he added.
The big picture: Patrick's comments come shortly after President Trump's press briefing on Monday where he said the economy will be reactivated soon as the administration plans to ease social distancing initiatives. Public health officials have strongly urged for continuing the efforts.

Is this in reference to Biden admitting he did a quid pro quo for his son, but somehow it's not? Also where's the impeachment news that we were hearing daily all the way up to the new narrative?

That said, other than the mosquito caused tropical diseases (malaria- yellow fever, etc) that have plagued mankind for centuries to the present, almost every mass extinction epidemic going back to the early Roman Empire most certainly came from China. It's historically been because of their population. Go back to 500 BC, and China's population has always been a huge percentage of the World total. Trade with China during Roman times brought multiple epidemics over the centuries. The Bubonic Plague (Black Death) of the 14th century that wiped out 1/3 of the European population and probably higher in Asia was almost certainly caused by the century that the Mongols kept the "silk road" trade routes open and safe (think Marco Polo). The worst epidemic in World History was the 1918-1919 "Spanish flu" ( misnamed after the Spanish royal family suffered a high percentage of afflicted). Killed 680,000 Americans in just over a year and probably 50-80 Million world-wide. Almost certainly came from China.

President Trump said Monday that his administration would work to allow local economies to “cautiously resume” activities at the appropriate time amid the coronavirus outbreak, adding that the United States “wasn’t built to be shut down.”

“Our public health experts, who are terrific, are studying the variation and the disease across the country, and we will be using data to recommend new protocols to allow local economies to cautiously resume their activity at the appropriate time,” Trump told reporters in the White House briefing room Monday evening.

“Our country wasn’t built to be shut down,” Trump continued. “This is not a country that was built for this.”

The remarks came one week after Trump announced social distancing recommendations for the American public and represented a strong signal the president would work to loosen those guidelines for certain areas of the United States in the near future.

The coronavirus pandemic, which has sickened upward of 40,000 Americans, has had a dire impact on the U.S. economy, forcing businesses to close and causing massive layoffs.

Trump declared that the American economy would soon be up and running and said it would happen more quickly than three or four months from now.

"America will again, and soon, be open for business," Trump said.

This is an airborne virus spread via the air (it's a respiratory disease). The virus may live on the surface for an extended period but that doesn't make it contagious. The entire washing your hands thing is pretty much irrelevant except as an attempt to get people to think about it. When people say that it can live on the surface for x days, it's idiotic and meaningless unless you are trying to do a line of cocaine off the surface within a few hours. HIV can live on a surface for 6 days - you aren't getting HIV from the doorknob. Here is an excellent video.

So, I was just listening to some numbers last night and if anyone has heard disputing numbers, then please point them out.

If you look at all of the people that take a coronavirus test (which you pretty much have to be showing some kind of symptom to take it)

90% - Right now almost all testing data shows that around 90% of the people taking tests are found NOT to have the virus. So, around 10% (I think it might be closer to 13%) are found to be positive. Don't have it

Now, if you toss out the 90% (who think they are sick and show some kind of symptoms but are found not to be sick with Coronavirus) then....

8% - Out of the remaining 10% (13%), I have heard that 80% of those people will have a "mild" case. Meaning some won't know they have it and the others will just take over the counter stuff and be okay. So, 80% of 10% is 8% of the people. None of these will go to the hospital. RD"s wife would probably be one of these. Mild case, no hospital

1% - Now, out of the 2% of the people that are left, half of them will go to the hospital for treatments (ventilator required), but not end up in the ICU. Bad case, hospital, no icu

1% - So, that means the remaining 1% of the people would go to the iCU. And of that group some die. Really bad case, icu, some dead.

I'm going to go ahead and call it now. From the Flumper Data Collection services, we are reporting that the pandemic that has been devastating the country of Italy, is showing signs of peaking. While the numbers might continue to rise in the short term, it appears to us that the peak is very very near. Thanks.

Sounds pretty vague for him to be making any noise about. Get back to us when he's ready to make actual predictions.

Why's he reluctant to commit to dates then for other places?
